Today I sat with a dying child & played him his favourite rap songs on YT.I wish there was more I could do to ease his pain & his mother's grief. Having to witness your baby dying a long drawn-out death has to be the most heart-wrenching thing ever. It's been a rather cruel day.

Sometimes I think abt this very cute,chubby baby we had in our paed haemat ward- you'd never guess he had leukaemia if you didn't know. Like any other 3 y/o he'd never let me draw blood for tests,not even from his tiny central line. He'd always have a bunch of toys-

strewn around on his bed. One day I came to work & his bed was empty. He'd suddenly deteriorated and passed away the night before. He'd been fine before that. How merciless life can be. Rip lil guy,you were very loved.
