PLEASE REMEMBER: once your culture is gone, it is not coming back. Government education has DELIBERATELY failed to teach the Great Books — the pillars of Western Civilization — for decades. This is how you erase a culture: by eroding its roots. That's why we started our independent group to study the Western canon. If we’re to keep our civilization, we must continue the Great Conversation upon which it was built. The careful study of our roots is essential. Western Civilization has given us the greatest works in history, but it takes effort and an open mind to read them. Read properly, Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Dante, Shakespeare, and Milton are not mere names in a syllabus but guides to more beautiful life. Join our reading group. Study the great works with us. We read a new classic every 4-6 weeks, and meet biweekly to discuss. Take out a paid membership if you'd like to support our mission and join the discussions directly — it makes a huge difference to the time and resources we can dedicate. You'll get: - Live book club discussions (biweekly) - Essays to guide you through the Great Books - Access to our incredible community chat - All past recordings, essays, and podcasts - Ability to vote on what we read next... athenaeumbooks.com/welcome See you inside.
