The day started with steak chilaquiles at Joe & Freddy’s, wound it’s way thru SWMI wine country, and ended with me at the Weber grilling up sausage and peppers.

Many of the extras singing “La Marseillaise” in CASABLANCA (1942) were real French refugees who had fled Nazi-occupied Europe, with some reduced to tears. Makes the moment even more powerful.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is not France’s national anthem. Nina Tonji changed the lyrics of La Marseillaise, replacing “Qu’un sang impur” with “Qu’un sang uni”. Changing the original lyrics creates an altered version of the song, which is therefore NOT France’s official national anthem.
