Today we're releasing @AudioShakeAI Multi-Speaker 2.0: one recording of several people talking goes in, a clean labeled track per person comes out — including the moments they talk over each other.

What do a Lite-Brite and AI have in common? Here’s source separation, explained with a children’s toy from 1967. 👇

Hey @basicfuntoys @Hasbro, ready to talk about that multi-million-dollar product sponsorship? 😂 I’m big with the burned-out white-collar middle-manager / plays-guitar-on-the-weekends demographic.

Was talking to an artist who went from 2k-->500k streams/mo and here's his advice: - Lean into cringe--post yourself eating a sandwich + doing normal things - Create 10 burner accounts to try different concepts and to amplify the other accounts - Always show your face 1/

- He knows you don't want to, that you didn't create art to have it be about you and your face, but SHOW YOUR FACE - If you really don't want to, come up with a Daft Punk-type gimmick or some kind of avatar....something that gives it a personality. But really, way easier to just use your face 3/

When you become Miley Cyrus / Kendrick / etc anything you do will be viral. Until then, you have to work at it. ...and show your face :)

A music supervisor once told me the holy grail of music licensing was finding a “platonic love song.” Something you could use in a dog food commercial about a pet and its owner. Try to think of one. It's surprisingly hard! No AI cheating. Use your rusty human brain.

A supervisor saw this and sent me the Japanese version of "Happy Together," which he had used in a commercial about friendship: disconic.disco.ac/playlist-n…

you can tell how successful a reality TV show has become by the shift in their music licensing---eg Love is Blind was once entirely production music, and now they're licensing "Don't Stop Believin"

i kinda loved the production music days tho. a girl would tell a guy she was no longer interested and there'd be a song like, "I thought I loved you, Trevor / But now I think I love whoever." someone in eg the Boston season would cheat on someone else: "You cheated in Boston / With my best friend Austin"

THE INTERNET IS DEAD! I made a plugin that lets your computer sing to you. I used it to make this song. You can try it yourself, it's opensource and free: songaday.studio/plugins bid on the 1/1: songaday.world/6501

Fun fact: stem separation (and other information retrieval tasks) are not just perceived differently from genAI, they actually ARE different, both in terms of the training data and the actual process/tech.
A$AP Rocky’s stance on AI being used in music nowadays: “It depends. I feel like when guys like Flexin’ Phoenix [Fenix Flexin], whatever his name is, and Tyga — I don’t know their process of how they make it, but I know when they made it, they caught a lot of backlash and shit like that.” “Me, personally, I prefer to do things myself, practically. Say if there's a song that's already out from, say, Kanye [West’s] Graduation. Let's say “Good Morning,” you want to take Kanye's lyrics off, but you want the instrumental, not that you can't just find the instrumental online, but say it was hard to find the instrumental, what you could easily do is use AI to split the stems and take away his vocals so that you could actually rap on it.” “AI has a lot of negative connotations. I don't think when it's used in certain ways that it's necessarily a right or wrong thing.” “AI is supposed to be a tool in that sense. If somebody does a totally AI-generated song where all they did was prompt something, then I think that that's their thing. But who am I to say what's standard and what's not?” “I'm just doing me out here and I'm doing my music practically—the right way. I'm really tapping with musicians, producers, beat makers, just to convey my sound and develop my sound.”
