In which I compare a one-of-a-kind folding phone to a one-of-a-kind atomic ship from 1959. ☢️
(Bonus: I tested the phone's camera on said ship!)
My Oppo Find N5 Review – shot partially aboard the N/S Savannah – premieres on @theMrMobile at 8:15p ET. Strap on your dosimeter and join the chat!

A year ago, @clickskeyboard brought a physical keyboard to the iPhone. Today, we're expanding to Android with a model you might have expected – and another you DEFINITELY didn't. 🤩

Come for the cold open about how much I hate the Las Vegas Strip; stay for the eyes-on time with a bunch of face computers! youtu.be/s8sYp-AcwKk #CES2025
If this were just a CES video, it would be unpardonably late. Fortunately, the tech at CES that mattered most (in mobile) was smart glasses – and that's a conversation we'll be having all year long!

Delighted to bring the "Road Trip Review" series back to @themrmobile's YouTube channel!
This week: 2 Honor foldables tackle @Qualcomm's #SnapdragonSummit – a stress test of epic proportions. From sunlight to heat to an avalanche of Maui dust, they tackled everything the trip had to throw at them. (See if you can guess my one big complaint.)
All that, plus tons of fun photos and video featuring some familiar faces. Going live at 4p ET!

No surprise here: Samsung's most polarizing gadgets of the season are also the most fun to talk about.
What did surprise me, though, was how much I loved *one* of these products.

The stated goal of @nothing is to make tech fun again - and its new "CMF" brand is the most (non-folding) fun I've seen in phones in a while.
The @cmfbynothing Phone 1 is the latest attempt to bring modularity to mobile, with removable backplates and an attachment point that can accommodate a lanyard, kickstand or wallet. Watch Pro 2 follows suit with swappable straps and a bezel that easily twists off, while the Buds Pro 2 case adds a knob that echoes the phone's.

Fun fact: while the new Motorola Razr *doesn't* officially have Qi2 ... it *does* stick to MagSafe wireless chargers.
If I had to guess, it's probably incidental attraction from the magnets that hold the flip closed. Still, neat!

Motorola's new Razr is the antidote to every other phone.

Eager to return to Mountain View to see what Google's cooking up. Expecting a lot of AI chat, of course -- just hope it's the kind that's actually useful 🤞

By now, you probably know the Rabbit R1 didn't live up to its promises.
Rather than regurgitate everyone else's reviews, I wanted to explore why the failure of the R1 (& Ai Pin) was so disappointing to gadget geeks like me.

The Plaud Note is a credit card-sized recorder that uses ChatGPT to transcribe your memos.
It's beautiful, tiny and dead-simple to operate – but like most "AI" products, the question is: "couldn't this just be an app?"

Up next on @themrmobile's review desk, the Plaud Note: a tiny recorder that uses GPT-4 to convert sound files into transcripts.
I'm a sucker for audio gadgets - but these "AI products" need to do more than an equivalent app could, in order to justify their cost. Review soon!

How many ways can you fold a screen? Are Wear OS and modular phones making a comeback? And: do you even *need* a phone anymore?
I've spent the week at #MWC24 with a ton of new gadgets trying to answer these questions! Check the roundup on @theMrMobile:

Sometimes, a design collab is just what an OEM needs to put a phone over the top.
Porsche Design's take on the Honor Magic V2 is a 🔥 update to a conservative design. It's just a shame they couldn't do more for the software.
