For a lot of people, that date is pure, unadulterated peak nostalgia—the absolute pinnacle of late-90s gaming culture, midnight launches, and the sheer magic of the white-swirl logo lighting up the living room CRT. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones who got to unbox it on launch day. Life happened, timing didn't align, and I had to wait over twenty years to finally experience that moment for myself. When I finally tracked one down and opened it up in 2024, it wasn't just about playing games; it was about closing a decades-long loop and holding a literal piece of hardware history that I had dreamed about since I was a kid. Check out the actual clip of me opening mine below. ⬇️ #SegaDreamcast #RetroGaming #99999 #ClassicGaming #Nostalgia #VintageGaming #Collecting #SaffordGameStore

Just want to give a big shoutout to my amigo Ian Bruce! for custom-making these awesome wooden POG keychains! He does amazing work, and I’m stoked to have these as part of the store. Now you can scan them for a surprise! Get yours on opening day at: Back In The Game Retro Retro Lives Here! 419 W Main Street #retro #retrovideogamestore #saffordgamestore #backinthegameretro #POG

Happy 27th birthday to the Sega Dreamcast. Released on 9.9.99 — and honestly, it was ahead of its time! (IMO) I’m celebrating the only way I know how: by playing some good old Resident Evil: Code Veronica on stream! What was the first Dreamcast game you remember playing? And more importantly… what game are you picking up first if you see it on our shelf? 22 days 💫 #segadreamcast #sega #dreamcast

All podcast live footage for previous episodes are now live and free to watch in celebration of reaching another 600 subs on YouTube over the weekend! Enjoy! youtube.com/@backinthegamere…

Stage pre setup 🎤

I gotta go put my DJ, Rap hat on this weekend, for the event I’m guest hosting in Miami! Cant wait to knock this out the park, and get back to gaming, the pursuit to opening the video game store 🏬 in 27 days! Yeeee! Wish me luck

To celebrate our 1K subs on YouTube This is Episode #1 (BITGR TV Series) where the dream originally began. Before taking gaming beyond the bedroom and sharing it with the world, I created a VHS-curated series featuring classic television, cartoons, commercials, and more. Every Wednesday, these shows originally aired live. There are 6 seasons, but only 3 were ever aired! Now, I'll be drip-feeding the remaining episodes right here, exclusively for subscribers. Stay tuned! Here's a full episode from 2022-before the game store, before the records, before everything that has happened since. It all started with a dream... youtu.be/ktYLVtlA46M?is=HtWq…
