I like Star Wars books, philosophy, art, and the funny jedi bird lady. Analysis threads linked below

Yeah he should kill his wife and become a miserable slave to a geriatric space wizard instead
“Anakin, my allegiance is to the political order that left your mother in slavery and then said you weren’t allowed to have any attachment to her or Padme!”

People the majority suck at cooking vegetables. They just boil them and assume that keeps them "healthy". They don't try to pan fry them, include a bit of them in each meal, or incorporate it overall.
Why do small children like meat off the bat but need to learn to like vegetables?

None of this makes any sense. Gatsby has no gift for reading human behaviour. If he had that he would have made literally the opposite of all his life choices in the book.
A modern-day police procedural take on ‘THE GREAT GATSBY’ is in the works at NBC. The series follows Jay Gatsby, a charming investigator with a gift for reading human behavior, and Nicole “Nicky” Carraway, a cop with dreams of becoming a writer. (Source: Deadline)

The people saying AI is a fad may be as delusional as the people who said the internet was a fad, but in 8th grade they taught us HTML because making websites was going to be a really important skill. These things don't always evolve like you expect.

LIKING A PIECE OF ART IN THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUS ENOUGH FOR PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF AND HAVE OPINIONS ON BUT NOT ENOUGH FOR ANYONE TO HAVE ACTUALLY READ/PLAYED: the equivalent to being brutus in satan's maw for for eternity
DISLIKING A PIECE OF ART EVERYONE LIKES: awesome. makes you feel all sophisticated LIKING A PIECE OF ART EVERYONE HATES: awesome. makes you feel all sophisticated THINKING THAT A PIECE OF ART EVERYONE LIKES IS MEDIOCRE: torture. hell on earth. you begin to question your humanity

i’ve never seen him not bald. this is so fucked up.
Obviously everyone is aware of Patrick Stewart as Lenin in Fall of Eagles but you should really see the superior 70s BBC drama he’s in (I, Claudius).

Pretty fucked up how impossible it is to avoid true crime content while doom scrolling on TikTok. I never like it and click not interested and it still shows up... I really think this content being as prevalent as it is is probably bad for society or whatever

discussion at all isn't bad but common entertainment is something else entirely. This has been a problem since the Victorians started using the printing press to sensationalize murder though... it feels a bit like modern blood sport

this isnt even addressing how this affects on going cases, with people being publicly slandered and put through the ringer after already having the worst time of their lives. Which is also very Victorian, Lizzie Borden is one of the older and most famous examples of this

& the problem with 90% of ao3 criticism is that it comes from people who 1)don't know what they're talking about 2)don't care to listen to anyone who does, and 3)seemingly forget how to read every time someone shares any data or resources that might address said criticism
The problem with AO3 fandom is you cannot say literally anything even slightly critical about an organization that takes in hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations every year without so many people telling you that they don't owe anything to anyone

UC gundam is literally just tomino’s love-hate relationship with his stupid chud son Char Aznable
🚨 'Gundam' creator Yoshiyuki Tomino reveals he almost REJECTED Char's design and named him out of anger: "A mask, a helmet, and something like a little cape, on a military uniform. I thought you can't use something that manga-like... I was really angry, so I gave him a name I didn't like. That later became my engine. That's the Red Comet."

when great gatsby became public domain everyone was like “ok who’s gonna write the explicitly gay retelling” foolishly no one considered “police procedural and nick is a woman”

People talk about separating the work from the artist, but they should learn to separate the work from the fans
