Vince Zachetti's golf career will be recognized next month when he is inducted into the West Penn Golf Hall of Fame.
It's a career that began under relatively odd circumstances, but that has produced five decades of excellence.

On Tuesday, we had a great day at beautiful South Hills Country Club for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Day, as we celebrated and thanked our many incredible WPGA volunteers for their service in 2026! 🤝
The WPGA can’t operate without volunteerism and are always in need of new volunteers who want to assist in a variety of ways, whether that be competitions, course rating, committees and more!
If you’re interested in volunteering in 2027, please let us know!

How about this. Two Western Pennsylvanians are not only playing in this week's PGA Tour event in Bermuda, but they're playing *together* today.
Neal Shipley and Austin Lemieux are on the course now at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, alongside Luke Clanton. @thewpga

Austin Lemieux shot 66 (his dad Mario's longtime number @Penguins) in his second Monday qualifier and will make his PGA Tour debut Thursday @Bermuda_Champ.
The former college hockey player has signed up for Q-School this fall and eyes status on a Tour-sanctioned circuit.
Showed ‘em what we’ve got 😮💨
#WestPennGolf was well represented at the PIAA State Championships this week!
In particular, five players from the WPGA’s footprint finished in the top six in the Boys AAA Championship, including champion Nico Ward. All five are members of Team PA, as well.
And in Girls AAA Championship, seven of the top finishers hail from our region, including champion Alyssa Zhang.
Across the board, some great playing from our junior golfers in State College! 👏

Thank you to @thewpga for inviting me to their end of the year Volunteer Day at South Hills CC today. It was a wonderful day and I’m grateful to have gotten to play with World Golf Hall of Famer Carol Semple Thompson! South Hills was so awesome! Company was even better 🙌🏼
STATE CHAMPS‼️
Congratulations to #WestPennGolf’s own and Team PA members Alyssa Zhang and Nico Ward, who claimed the PIAA Girls 2A and Boys 3A Golf Championships today in State College!

Another awesome @thewpga Play Day! Williams Golf & Country Club was awesome. A brilliant Emil Loeffler design!
On Monday, the WPGA held its Annual Meeting at the beautiful Club at Nevillewood, as it welcomed delegates from our member clubs throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Tom Reading of Fox Chapel Golf Club was named the next president of the WPGA Board of Directors, succeeding Carol Onufro.
We look forward to Tom’s leadership in the coming year and thank Carol for her contributions to the WPGA over the last two years.
Thank you to our member clubs and their delegates for such a wonderful event and fantastic 2026 golf season!
Congratulations to #WestPennGolf's own Austin Lemieux, who qualified as an amateur for his first PGA Tour event yesterday during Monday Qualifying. ➡️
Lemieux, the champion of the 41st WPGA Mid-Amateur Championship last month, qualified for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship October 22-25. 👏

Numerous players participated in last week’s WPIAL Golf Championships.
But only one had a unique, familial tie to the two host clubs. A tie that includes a historic U.S. Open victory. @thewpga

Ian Patterson has heard the stories of his most famous relative throughout his life. But it wasn’t until recently that he was able to gain a full appreciation.
