I’m excited to announce something I’ve been building for a year — the new Baseball Rules Academy Online Rules Course.
A true labor of love.
The Baseball Rules Academy website remains free, but the new video-based course comes with a premium membership.

My book 'Pinstripes In West Haven' chronicles the West Haven Yankees, New York's AA affiliate in the 1970s. West Haven won 4 minor league championships in 8 years.

If you're planning to watch the @RedSox @Yankees game tonight, do it through the eyes of a network broadcaster; with all the prep work done right here. I've been fooling around with an AI agent to help me prepare for games and here is a in-depth look at the game tonight. baseballrulesacademy.com/pre…

Three things to know about Shota Imanaga:
· Since the All-Star break: 3-1, 2.65 ERA, 39 strikeouts and seven walks in seven starts; Chicago is 6-1. His last outing lasted only two innings and 72 pitches, with every primary pitch at least 1.1 mph below its season average.
· FOUR-SEAM — Eye-level setter. He throws fastballs up 61% of the time. The pitch has produced a .456 slugging percentage and is the primary home-run risk when elevation becomes middle rather than above the barrel.
· SPLITTER — Best bat-misser: 42% whiffs, .210 average and only 25% hard contact. It supplies the vertical separation that makes the fastball/splitter tunnel work.
Three things to know about Chase Burns:
· The slider accounts for 111 of 164 strikeouts — 68%, the highest of all starters.
· The Reds are 18-7 in his starts and 46-65 when anyone else starts
· Right-handed hitters: .501 OPS, best among MLB starters; LHH have produced a .728 OPS.

The strike zone starts at the front of plate and ends at the back of the plate, until this year. Now its at mid-plate
Even if the catcher wouldnt be called for interference, it would be called a ball, since the pitch never entered the strike zone!
Of course there is a rule for this: baseballrulesacademy.com/202…
I don't really like to get involved in these hypothetical rules questions because I am not a rules expert. I do explain rules on my website, baseballrulesacademy.com, and I'm careful to check with good sources before I put an opinion out there. The final answer on this play is "any movement that commits the pitcher to deliver the ball to the batter." Thank you, let's get back to baseball.

May want to reconfirm with your guy.
Here is the Umpire Manual xitter.cf/johngerads/status/2076…
This could be correct. I’m checking another source. That’s why I usually never get involved in X discussions. I’ll have a definitive answer tomorrow.

To be clear, he gets the base if he touches before the motion to pitch begins.
