My dear friend @duncancampbell is being maligned in a very weird way for the incredible paper he just co-wrote. Let me explain what is happening: Duncan is the most patient, empathetic, and tolerant person when engaging on difficult topics that I have ever seen. In return, he demands people engage in good faith and has ZERO tolerance for people who don't. I've never seen him miss on this point. The paper is correct, novel, and contrarian. It should be everything our space strives for: pushing our perspectives in a balanced and rigorous way. The responses to it have been unfair, disingenuous, and truly eye opening. You all punched first, and now he is enjoying taking the piss because you have not earned the right to any other form of response. You are mad and he is laughing. I am very much enjoying it as well.
