You are absolutely correct. The only time we should be selling a ticket for that amount should be an open event and venue that can accommodate up to a thousand people or more. And categories of tickets will be sold as well. These are the type of events that guarantees ROI, but we need to start from somewhere by building the numbers at geometric progression after every event. We need to position ourself properly before any brand will take us serious.

In my opinion which I’ve expressed to you before in private, 10k is too small a base fee for the quality of that event, that being said the responsibility both rest on the talents & organization, promoting a battle is one thing, promoting the event is another, all for the culture

I think I would need to organize a talk show about this topic both for battle rap and Hip Hop. Rappers need to understand that they need to build something for themselves (fan base or community) which makes it easy for anyone to market them cos there is something to leverage on. The talk long, one day we will get there!
