If Michelangelo was around today, how would he design a contemporary typeface?

This dude @righttimebomani is the very top tier of smartest people in our industry but our industry does not truly appreciate that because they are too consumed with loud and outrageous takes.

Nike spends $2M on a stadium shoot for a 10-second hero shot.
40-person crew. 3 days of permits. 2 weeks in post. Stunt doubles. Insurance paperwork thicker than the script.
This creator generated the entire sequence on a laptop for under $80.
A guy sprints across a stadium roof at night, leaps off the edge, free-falls into a sold-out arena, and lands on a giant football in the center of the pitch.
One continuous shot. No crane. No drone operator. No safety harness review board.
The toolchain behind this clip:
> Kimi K3 wrote the full shot sequence: rooftop sprint, jump arc, mid-air hang, landing impact, crowd reaction timing
> Kling 3.0 generated the fluid body physics and night lighting on the roof
> Seedance 2.5 rendered the free-fall, wind on the shirt, and the ball deformation on impact
> ElevenLabs produced the ambient stadium atmosphere and crowd noise
> CapCut handled speed ramps, color grade, and final export
A traditional production house would need a stadium rental at $150K, a stunt coordinator, a medical team on standby, and 6 months of liability clearance.
This entire sequence was prompted, rendered, and exported between dinner and sleep.
AI didn't replace the stunt double.
It replaced the entire stadium booking.
Google doesn't care about accuracy. They promote misinformation and blame users for trusting it. Yes, people need to do more diligent research, but the world's top search engine should be able to snuff out bs like that immediately (it was able to 5 years ago)
Mina Kimes pointed it out, but this whole fake WR scam really exposes how far Google has fallen. The AI search result concluded that he is a legitimate 49ers player, citing his social media accounts as proof. Search engines are more exposed to manipulation than ever before

What I find fascinating is how the 10s shifted organic impressions into paid for ones. There’s such a machine around viral moments, conversations, and more surroding talent that the virality is now a hamster wheel of an organised production.
It’s so insidious how capitalism can and will touch every single thing

Woke just means Black. Thanks for confirming.
The Trump Administration has removed a painting by artist Kehinde Wiley, who notably painted former President Barack Obama’s official portrait, from one of its embassies over what officials called its “woke ideologies”

This might very be my single favorite cityscape of LA so I’ll share it by itself. Taken at 600mm from across the pacific in PV at golden hour with a clearing storm the conditions were immaculate. The extremely clear air and the fresh snow at lower elevations on the San Gabriels were extremely rare. This is the one photo that gets called out the most for being fake, being shopped and now being AI when in reality it’s using photographic lens compression to take advantage of maybe once in a lifetime conditions.
Today is World Photography Day and I am going to share 4 of my favorite cityscapes from Los Angeles the city I call home. I’ve spent 15+ years trying to document LA from unique angles capturing the best light and conditions that truly show off the impact of living here.
The first captures the Torrance refinery, the LA skyline and the San Gabriel mountains after a massive blizzard dumped record level snowfall. Everything aligned for this shot with the sunrise light hitting the steam as well as a plane flying through the break in the clouds. The perfect industrial and nature juxtaposition and proud to say this is hanging in several offices of those who work at the refinery.
The second photo is the quintessential “Bay to LA” photo spanning from the Pacific Ocean, Redondo Beach, the LA skyline and the snow capped San Gabriel mountains in the back. The saying that you can hit the surf and the snow in a day is depicted in this photo.
The third is a heavy realization that fire season is a thing and only gets worse every year. This photo documented the Bridge Fire in 2024 that burned around 60,000 acres in the Angeles National Forest and I scouted out a location to align the LA skyline in front of it. This photo always sparks debate about fire management and the threat of living in LA.
The last photo captures what we call cloudfall at the Griffith observatory which is probably my favorite place to photograph at sunrise. Capturing the cloud inversion here is hit or miss and highly depends on weather and cloud height. For this brief moment the fog pushed in at just the right height making it look like it was seeping down the hills and running through the Observatory. The pre dawn lights glowed through the fog creating an ethereal feeling to the shot.
I’ll post some portrait/vertical favorites of LA as a follow on but hope you enjoy these. Would love to see any of your favorite photos as we celebrate photography today.

I remember asking assistant coach Mo Cheeks, what’s harder to do? Workout after practice or before?? I only asked cuz by time I would get to the gym, Russ was already done in the morning and I usually got mine in after practice. Mo like, “coming in before practice is probably harder”…since then, it’s been my routine….a lot of people looked at the emotions on the court and thought Russ was loud, nah to me, he was quiet and methodical. He lead by example and once the lights were bright, he let everything out and experienced pure freedom. It was inspiring as his teammate and everywhere I went, I seen it inspire people from all walks of life, crazy thing is, he didn’t say much, he just showed up. For 18 years. This basketball life is sacred to us as professionals, what we put into that court means everything. Some of us wish we could go back and do things with a little more intent and some can just wipe their hands and be satisfied with the time spent. Who u gonna be? We know what zero was on…keep inspiring in the next phase of life champ. I don’t care what happens, can’t erase what it was…The first YNs, finals run in our early 20s, all star games, seeing each other get injured and bounce back, the bus rides, plane rides, card games, jokes and arguments, the whole thing, memorable!! …to the whole Westbrook family, Nina, the kids, mama Westbrook, big Russ, Ray, Donnell, everybody from luezinger high and ucla and many more that I’m forgettin, much love and Congratulations on a iconic career.
He’s not slick
