A year has passed since my mother left. In this letter to her, I trace the grief, the beauty, the memories, and the love that continues to bloom in her absence. This is a quiet offering, a tribute, a whisper to the one who still lives in my every day. medium.com/@tileyemi.babajid…
The only thing we can consider a slight reparation from the struggles of October 2020 is the lack of revenue from both the lekki and ikoyi toll gate. So shall it be for life!

Big launch at the office today!
So you see, HR technology in Africa has largely been built for people who sit at a desk, whereas most of Africa's workforce doesn’t. Even the guys who do, sometimes don’t want to log in to a whole new system to carry out simple tasks.
So today, @getPaidHR is launching WhatsApp and USSD access across Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. Employees can now check or download their payslips, request leave and access their earned wages without downloading an app or logging into a portal.
For employers, this means every worker gets the same HR experience as your office staff, whether they are on a site, in a warehouse, at a branch or on a shift. It needs no new hardware and no new app.
Personally, this is a massive milestone for me. I’ve always wanted to break the barriers and obstacles of adoption on our platform and I’m more than proud of the team who worked on this to give thousands of people on the PaidHR platform more access to the life-improving tools we built for them. Shout out to @lekanutty and the whole team.
Introduce me to your HR team, finance or ops teams. Let’s elevate the work experience for you and them.

well, most genuinely are not, at least not in the beginning. events can run at a loss for a long time before they become financially sustainable. people keep doing it because of the love for the game, the long term vision, and the need to build a track record that attracts sponsors and bigger opportunities. you might not make a dime from the first few editions, but you’re building credibility, relationships and proof of concept.
some events barely break even for years. just like any other business, you have to invest before you can expect returns. it looks glamorous from the outside until you put body.

A warm, cozy, and welcoming space where you can relax, unwind, and get your nails done in comfort. 🤎✨
Please let’s acknowledge the OG white garment churches too. C&S, Celestial, Aladura and co. They should be replacing RCCG and Winners in this list IMO
I don’t have the right words to express this. But I genuinely feel like growing up in a process heavy Christian doctrine( I’m talking doctrines like Anglican, Baptist, catholic, Pentecostal, RCG, Winners Chapel) has an effect on how easily moved you are by religion. I grew up in the era of processional hymn/recessional hymn and saying nicene creed/apostles creed, singing from Ancient & Modern Hymns And actually saying Grace and surely the way it is in the bible.

Couple people asking me about this so here it is.
Toure was angry cos he thought Gallas was talking about him behind his back to Wenger and telling him he doesn’t want to play with Toure, as their partnership never worked. Then Toure didnt like that Wenger took Gallas’ side. Toure got dropped in the next game and asked to leave in January. They were kept apart for the next couple of games and they never spoke to each other for the rest of the season, on the pitch and off the pitch. Toure’s move to Man City in the summer was basically all cos he didn’t wanna play with Gallas.
The game was awful too. We were so bad but somehow 2-0 up. Villa made it 2-2 in injury time and Wenger shoved Martin O’Neill
🗣️ Jack Wilshere on the biggest fight he witnessed at Arsenal:
“The biggest one that stands out, because I was so young, was William Gallas versus Kolo Touré.
“Boxing Day, 2008, at Villa Park. Something happened with Kolo, and William was blaming him.
“It all boiled over after the game. Two big guys going at it. As a 16-year-old, it was quite intimidating.”
David Ornstein: “Proper fist fight?”
Wilshere: “Proper fist fight.”
