We need to look beyond what may be perceived as parochial state rhetoric & recognise that the laissez faire market based approach to water reform is failing the environment as well as the people, their communities & the industries of the #MurrayDarling Basin.

Think about this mate - if a farmer has his first wheat crop since 2016 destroyed by forecast rain & flooding, then finds himself unable to lift water off irrig fields through legal approved works. Massive mental & financial impact combined. I’m very worried for my fellow farmer.

A must watch report tonight on @EDOLawyers client Dolly Talbot’s fight to save cultural sites of “immeasurable” importance from destruction by Shenhua’s Watermark Coal Mine.
This special place can still be saved - a fresh declaration by the Federal Minister is all that’s needed.
When Rio Tinto blew up ancient Aboriginal caves in WA to make way for a mining project, there was huge outcry.
But the same thing is about to happen on the other side of the country, with the controversial Shenhua Watermark Coal Mine. Why? Because it's financially lucrative.
