It's been a rather busy week but some fruit is really nice to see.
The first issue of Palimpsest is out and, along with some of my colleagues, I have an essay in the issue:

I put something in a locker and completely forgot it existed for like a week when I opened the locker again for something else.
A great portent [a great unveiling of divine substance] appeared in heaven [emerges in the Intelligible-Intellective Mythotopos]
A woman [a Goddess, Maria Sophia, Mater Ecclesiae] clothed with the Sun [Priestly role, the Sun symbolizing Nous in its providential illumination,…
…and Nous being an intermediary between the Psychic and the Intelligible], with the moon under her feet [symbolizing Her complete control over Her psychic vehicle], and on her head [at the summit of the Marian series] a crown of 12 stars [a primary dodecad manifold…

Yeah, it is like how krishna acts as a prophet for shiva and devi, establishing the worship of both, but he himself too is the complete brahman. Similarly, shiva acts as a prophet for krishna, establishing worship of his infant form.

I hate having to ask for help, but I got robbed the other day and I’m really struggling to get through till next paycheck. If anyone is able to help, I’d be grateful. I’m sorry to have to ask, and I appreciate anyone who can help or even just share.
HiDive is such a shit app it’s infuriating.
I have things to watch there but the sheer crappiness of the UI makes it almost impossible to not throw a tantrum.

Yep at least two authors. Gen 1 and Gen 2 are different authors, and later chapters include a blend of multiple authors. For example the Noah story has two versions interspersed side by side, episode by episode, in a more drawn out integration of the two sources

I got all this from books like:
Scribal Culture and the Making of the Hebrew Bible by Karel van Der Toorn
I can't recall the second one, but it basically covers the same topic.

In the time the traditions contained in Genesis was written, the idea of authorship was also not thought of as an individual thing, but a status held by a community.
So it's more accurate to say the author(s) of Genesis were the communities that formed it's traditions.

I'm still taking in yesterday. Friends, mutuals and complete strangers amplified my story. I don't take it for granted. Because of you, we're at $3,900+. The road ahead is still long, with $25K due Dec 14 and every share gets me closer

Hi everyone, I’m Marvellous, some of you know me as Ini. I’m a few months from finishing my MPH at NYU. I planned for this year with a student loan and a summer internship but it didn’t come through. Then this month, MPOWER shut down. I was on their waitlist.

Not an expert, but as far as I know:
Historically speaking, Genesis has no one author. It, along with the other 4 books of the "Pentateuch" (or "Torah") are thought to have been first compiled, edited, and redacted in the format we recognize now at least in the 6th century BCE.
Undergraduates who enroll for courses involving the academic study of the bible (at least in the US) are often assigned the SBL Study Bible. I'd recommend it as well. It has introductions and notes that explain the history, context, etc. of the texts.
