Very excited to share the published manuscript my graduate cohort and I wrote regarding the limited science and twisted history of tear gas use in the united states.
Have a yourself a tea as we spill the tea on shoddy regulations and attacks on first amendment rights.

Reminder that science is political whether you like it or not.
Politics define how we are funded and what we are funded for. Politics define what we are able to study. Politics define who will be allowed in our labs and workplaces. Politics define with whom we can collaborate.

Do not turn on Kamala Harris and start trashing the campaign she ran.
She ran an amazing campaign.
Put the blame on half of America who voted for hate and a daddy dictator who they think will take care of them, but who doesn't give a damn about them.

please keep the “we survived him once, we will do it again” tweets in the drafts or better yet delete them. millions of people did not in fact survive him, and millions more will not survive him again.

ethel cain on the election:
"if you voted for trump, i hope that peace never finds you. instead, i hope clarity strikes you someday like a clap of lightning and you have to live the rest of your life with the knowledge and guilt of what you've done and who you are as a person."

Tough day to be a physician in America.

The final paper of my PhD is up on BioRxiv!! I’m so excited to see this out in the world!
We conducted multiple genetic manipulations to uncover which NAc cell pop is necessary for opioid receptor modulation of social behavior.
*spoiler* it’s not the population you expect!

Philadelphia! Don Cheadle and I are at Rittenhouse Square for the next hour handing out Harris/Walz swag. See you there!
The prophesized time has come where current me must despair over the fact that past me put a ton of notes like [cite that paper with the people who looked at faces after opioid admin] throughout my manuscript draft instead of the actual citations for future me to deal with 😫
