Mitch Johnson shares the biggest lesson he learned from Gregg Popovich.
"How important people and relationships are."
"He understands people and relationships and the significance of every moment and every touch point with every person."
The best leaders and coaches invest in people.
Then he explained what investing in people really looks like:
"That can be having to yell and hold someone accountable. And that can be to put your arm around someone's shoulder and love 'em."
The best leaders combine high standards with high support.
"He did it better than anybody, I think, that's ever walked the sidelines."
"I will attempt to do it my way in whatever that looks like moving forward."
Great leadership isn't one style. It's knowing your people well enough to give them what they need.
Invest in the relationships. Care about people, hold them to their potential, and lead in your style.

Golden State @Warriors Coach Steve Kerr has best the blueprint for starting to culture build at ground zero:
❓ Culture isn't a slogan it's self-awareness. Before a team can answer “Who are we?”, its leaders need to answer that question, and behave accordingly.
💒 Choose a few values worth operationalizing. When Coach Kerr was hired by Golden State he chose:
-Competitiveness
-Compassion
-Joy
- Mindfulness
And then designed the environment to make them visible: Hired people who we're competitive in nature 🔥, built systems that show people they matter ❤️, planned practices that energized and infused joy 😁🎶, and paid attention to HOW the work gets done 🤔, not just whether it gets done.
🧭 Identity is a decision-making filter. When your values are clear, every hire, habit, and hard conversation can be measured against the same question:
“Does this move align with who we say we are?”
✅ or 🚫 = clear direction on next step.

Every player on the planet needs to hear this — over and over again:
Remove all the “stuff” — results, expectations, distractions — and just compete.
Compete. Compete. Compete.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to becoming the ultimate competitor. Breathe. Center your thoughts. Lay it on the line and compete.

Curt Cignetti with a masterclass on consistency and standards.
"Every play has a life and history of its own...Not affected by success. Not affected by failure. On to the next play. Never satisfied. Playing to a standard, not the circumstances of the game."
Every moment is another rep in honoring your standard.
Stay anchored to your standard and your consistency becomes your separator.

⚠️ Viewer Discretion Advised: “Voice for the Voiceless” House Judiciary Committee Hearing Testimony on behalf of child sexual abuse victims
Last night, I got a message from a girl who has been rescued and she said, “thank you so much for speaking up for us”…and it was humbling to get that.
But if all we do today is speak…if all I do is speak then I also miss the mark. We have to do more than just talk about it. We have to act on it and be about it.
My hope and prayer is that today be a day that we wouldn’t miss the mark, that we would hear his cries, and her cries, and that we would hear all the boys and girls calling out and we would answer the call.
Every single one of the 50,000+ unknown boys and girls are worth us answering the call and doing everything we can so that they can experience the Faith, Hope and Love that they deserve…not the darkness, evil and torture that they’re in right now.
Thank you, Lord, for this humbling opportunity. I am grateful that we have a chance to be a part of His mission for the Most Vulnerable boys and girls around the world. @tebowfoundation
I just watched an episode of Bluey where they call the bathroom the Dunny and now that’s what I call it.

Except for anything negative he ever said about Philip Rivers, this is why I love @getnickwright
I think the majority of the media has gotten the Tom Brady retirement story wrong. I greatly empathize with what he was going through, and I got quite emotional when discussing my own similar family struggles. We discuss it here.
What’s Wright? with Nick Wright the podcast drops every Monday, Thursday and Friday. Follow Nick’s NFL picks on our brand new gambling show every Friday!
I think it is safe to say at this point that Philip Rivers a.k.a. football Tony Gwynn, he without run game, he without a competent coaching staff, and he with the cheapest front office of all time, was indeed cursed from the beginning.
