This is not the first case, afaik. COBOL was designed similarly. This is what we end up with every time we try to turn English into Programming Language. Serves as friendly reminder to all the LLM lovers. There is a reason why we don't do math with English. We need a formal lang.

Network tab u dev toolsima je takodjer fascinantan. Severity: "success" i success: false je odlicna kombinacija. Status code je naravno 200

It's into_iter, into_iter, into_iter ...not iter_into, iter_into, iter_into I don't know why is this so hard for my brain to remember.

My TSConf 2021 video is up: "Statically Prevent 404s". I build real-world types live, combining advanced TS features (mapped, conditional, and template literal types). It also introduces the statically-typed path library used in production by @exec_prog. youtube.com/watch?v=KRMJIiGE…

the dumbest way to solve a maze? simulate a gas of thousands of particles diffusing from the start point, until one particle reaches the exit. trace back the winning particle

Man, I can't search for a specific company anymore on Google without the TOP (and often only) google paid ad being for their most DIRECT head-to-head competitor. Cut throat. Even if and when Google gets sued over this they'll make billions of incremental in the interim.

Programmers spend far too much time worrying about whether their stack will scale up, and far too little addressing the real danger of whether it can scale down. Small teams bet – and lose! – the farm on big tech solutions to banal problems all the fucking time.

Even after all these years, after all the different languages and frameworks, Java, Scala, Play, NodeJS, Express, Laravel, Python, ... I come back to @rails and can dish out a major feature on a Sunday afternoon. No other environment I've ever tried is nearly as productive.

The example code on dustjs.com no longer works in Chrome because it uses an older version of Polymer. Works in Safari. The irony is so thick you could drizzle it over pancakes. If you're gonna Use the Platform, make sure that Platform is nailed down to something!

In 2008, I was extremely frustrated by Ruby imposing a constant ~100 ms startup penalty on hello world. In 2018, computers are ~3.5 times faster (4479 vs. 1266 Geekbench for 2007 vs. 2017 MBP). TypeScript imposes a 1600 ms startup penalty on hello world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wirth%…
