Simultaneous aerial and ground-based measurements now allow us to determine vent-specific volatile fluxes at multi-vent systems. In this study led by @tompering we apply this strategy at Stromboli. Delighted to see our paper out in print in @NatureComms! nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Lava like no other! The crater floor of Ol Doinyo Lengai is continually resurfaced by ultra low viscosity natrocarbonatite lava flows. The lava hydrates on contact with air within hours, changing colour from black to grey/white in front of our eyes! @deepcarb @ES_UCL @UCLHC
