Definitely a great direction for the St. John’s program.
Utilizing high school recruits is still key to being successful, love seeing Rick Pitino using this route still.

Huge recruitment for the Johnnies as Jordan picked them over USC, Kansas, Vanderbilt and Tennessee. The recruiting battle was between Vanderbilt and Kansas until Rick Pitino extended a scholarship offer to Jordan and set up a visit during St. John’s preseason finale against Texas

Rick Pitino:
"I can't predict with this team. I told them yesterday I have nothing to gauge with you guys. I don't know who you are; you don't know who I am. That's the weakness of our basketball program right now. Last year, I knew we were going to be good. We have the makings of a good team — we just have to teach the team how to play. That's a tough thing to do for 22/23 year olds."
