#LGE2026 | Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Limpopo chairperson and Polokwane mayoral candidate Lawrence Mapoulo says the fatal stabbing of a party branch treasurer in Polokwane has left the community mourning another young life lost. The 31-year-old man, Lebogang Madiba was stabbed at a park opposite Flora Park Comprehensive School on Thursday morning, following an alleged argument. The accused, Tebogo Tlaka appeared in the Polokwane magistrates court today and the matter was postponed to 13 November 2026 for possible bail application with further provisional court date to be determined should the matter not proceed. Mapoulo says the incident has affected the community, recalling a similar fatal incident involving a young person in the area about two years ago. He says the party has met with the family of the deceased party member. Mapoulo has urged residents not to take the law into their own hands, and is calling on the community to allow police to complete their investigation. Both the deceased and the accused belong to the same political party. MAM
