Individually, A'ja Wilson and Dawn Staley are undeniable legends.⚡ @dawnstaley has guided hundreds of athletes to greatness as the head coach of women's basketball at the University of South Carolina. #AjaWilson was integral to the team winning its first national championship in 2017–and is a four-time WNBA MVP & two-time Olympic Gold Medalist. Last night, A’ja powered the @LVAcesback to the WNBA Finals with a 35-point, all-around performance that made history. She also tied the record for most 30-point playoff games. Together, they are even greater, and more powerful. As it turns out, their coach-athlete origin story goes back even further than their days at South Carolina. It involves a long and rich relationship that persists to this day—one that has carried them into the starring roles they each play now. We’ll let them tell you all about it in their cover feature, as part of our first-ever Icons of Coaching issue, live at the link and on stands everywhere, 10/14. bit.ly/4nve9Up
