In the last 7 days DeFi exposed roughly $177.5M through one door: the oracle. 👀
Tectonic watched its price feed get inflated 100x and up to $124M walked out. Morpho lost $35M to a gamed 15-minute TWAP, Moonwell gave up $8.7M to a spot pump into a weak feed, and Switchboard saw $4.9M minted off a single stolen key. Then today, Injective lost $4.9M and halted the whole chain for 4 hours, not because a feed was bent, but because a disabled oracle left a refund path paying out double.
Different chains, different protocols, same root cause.
Every one of them tied settlement to an external oracle, and the oracle failed them in every way an oracle can: manipulated, gamed, stolen, or simply switched off. As long as a protocol asks someone else what assets are worth, the answer can be bought, borrowed, stolen, or missing entirely.
Everything runs without one. Pricing is enforced on-chain, un-gameable by design, for humans and agents alike. This week's $177.5M exposure was not bad luck, it was avoidable architecture.
On Everything, every pool is its own oracle. Nothing to break, nothing to game.

Every timeline is full of agents right now.
Agent frameworks. Agent launchpads. Agent tokens with a mascot and a posting schedule. Everyone has a demo. Binance is on it too with "SOPHIE".
Almost nobody is asking the question that actually decides this: where do these things settle?
Because the intelligence layer is going to commoditise.
It already is. Models improve for everyone at roughly the same moment, and any edge built on a slightly better prompt has a shelf life measured in weeks.
What doesn't commoditise is the surface an agent is allowed to act on.
That's the part of the agent economy nobody has worked through.
Here's the problem in one sentence.
An agent can only take risk it can compute.
A human doesn't operate that way. A human eyeballs a position, feels alright about it, and accepts that if something strange happens mid-crash they'll deal with it afterwards.
Ambiguity is survivable when you're running four positions and you can stare at a screen.
An agent running a thousand positions has no such luxury. It prices the worst case before it acts, and anything it cannot model, it has to treat as a fat tail.
So ask what an agent genuinely cannot model on the venues that exist today.
It cannot model when the oracle updates, or what it prints during a wick.
It cannot model whether a keeper finds the liquidation profitable at that exact second.
It cannot model a liquidation engine with discretion baked into it.
It cannot model how deep a cascade runs once it starts moving.
It cannot model whether the insurance fund still holds anything by the time its position is the one getting socialised.
Five unknowables sitting directly on top of the risk calculation.
And an agent's response to unknowables isn't panic. It's quieter than that, and more expensive.
It sizes down.
That's the actual state of the "agent economy" today.
Enormous intelligence, throttled to a fraction of its usable size by an execution surface that can't be reasoned about.
Everyone is building faster brains and plugging them into venues that run on faith.
Now flip it on what @every_thing just announced.
If price comes from the pool's own reserves, there's no update to time and nothing to race.
If liquidations run on tick math, the agent computes its exit before it enters. Exactly, not probabilistically. Doesn't need to guess what ADL will do or weird market conditions would create.
If cascades are bounded in code, the tail has a floor that can be written straight into the model.
If there's no insurance fund, there's no socialised loss to guess at, because solvency was never handed to a backstop in the first place.
Every one of those unknowables becomes a number.
That isn't a marginal improvement in UX. It's the difference between an agent that can size and an agent forced to hedge against the venue itself.
Then there's the sequencing problem, which gets discussed less and costs just as much.
A strategy isn't a trade. It's a sequence.
Borrow, swap, lever, hedge, unwind.
Run that across three protocols and a router and you've got gaps between every step, and gaps are where an agent ends up stranded holding half a position while conditions move underneath it.
One pool, one transaction. The whole sequence lands or none of it does.
And the capital underneath stops being scattered across six venues, mostly idle, waiting to see which strategy needs it next.
Sitting on top of that is @HeyEva, and she matters for a reason people will be slow to appreciate. She runs code against raw market data and returns the reasoning chain, not a verdict.
Have you tried it? It's amazing.
You cannot delegate capital to a black box and call the result an economy. Auditability isn't a nice touch in an agent world. It's the precondition for trusting one with size.
And the rails are identical for everybody.
Sit with that for a second, because the last time machines took over a market, the entire game was privileged access. Colocation. Faster feeds. Order types you had to be somebody to use. The onchain version doesn't have to repeat that, but it will by default, unless the venue makes it structurally impossible.
Same rules for a human, an agent and a fund. No fast lane for sale. (hey Trump!)
Nobody is going to remember which agent had the best model in 2026. Models converge. That's the one thing models reliably do.
What gets remembered is where they went to act.
Everyone's asking which agent wins.
Ask where it settles instead.

Here is the hard truth nobody will tell you about Decentralized Finance.
DeFi never had a liquidity problem.
It had an allocation problem, and it spent five years covering that up with emissions.
Go look at the utilisation rate on any major money market. The real number, not the TVL headline. A large share of those deposits are sitting there doing nothing at all, waiting on a borrower who may not arrive this month. That capital isn't earning. It's on call.
Go look at concentrated liquidity. Ranges drift, price leaves the band, and the capital inside stops working the instant it does. Still deposited. Still counted. Completely asleep.
Go look at margin on any perp venue. That collateral has exactly one job: sitting there proving you're good for it.
Now stack those three.
The same dollar cannot be LP depth, lending collateral and trading margin. It has to pick one. And every dollar that picks is a dollar the other two protocols now have to outbid.
That bidding war is what you've been calling yield.
It was never yield. It was rent paid to capital for showing up, funded by a token printer, and every single time the printer slowed down the capital left inside a week.
You watched it happen in 2021, in 2022, in 2023, in 2024. Each time it got explained away as market conditions rather than what it actually was. A structural defect nobody knew how to fix.
And here's the part I don't think gets enough credit.
Nobody kept the primitives separate out of laziness.
They stayed separate because merging them was genuinely dangerous.
Shared capital across swaps, loans and leverage means one bad liquidation reaches all three at once. Put an oracle in front of that, one that can be wicked, plus a liquidation engine that improvises under stress, and you haven't built capital efficiency.
You've built a single detonation point for the entire system.
So the industry accepted the walls as physics. Three protocols, three balance sheets, three fee streams, and a router stitched across the top charging you for the privilege of pretending it's one product.
They were never physics. They were a workaround for a risk engine nobody trusted.
That's the thing @every_thing actually changes.
Please go read the whitepaper they published today.
Every primitive runs out of one pool.
Swap, lend, borrow, leverage, same liquidity, settled in the same transaction. One deposit earning from all of it at once instead of choosing a lane and waiting.
And the reason that's even possible isn't ambition. It's that the risk model is deterministic all the way down.
Prices come from the pool's own reserves, so there's no external feed to bribe or delay. Liquidations run on tick math, knowable before they trigger instead of reconstructed afterwards in a postmortem. Cascades are bounded in the code.
And there's no insurance fund at all, which was always just a polite way of saying "we know this breaks, so we keep money aside for when it does". Solvency rests on the tick caps themselves, not on a backstop quietly hoping it's large enough this time.
The determinism isn't a feature sitting next to the efficiency.
It's the thing that permits it.
And once capital stops idling, yield stops needing a subsidy. Fees from three separate activities land on the same deposit. You don't have to bribe liquidity to stay when it's genuinely being used.
The same rules apply to whoever shows up to trade on it. Human or agent, identical conditions, no privileged access. Eva runs live code against raw market data and hands you the reasoning chain instead of a signal and a request for faith.
The token does one job. Every swap, every loan, every query burns $EV. Usage removes supply. That's the entire mechanism.
Risks, plainly. It's not out yet. Shared capital means a shared blast radius if the tick parameters are wrong. Internal pricing needs real depth to behave properly. And a burn without volume behind it is a screensaver.
But strip out the noise and this is the first serious attempt at the problem DeFi has been carrying since 2020.
Not faster swaps. Not another chain. Not another points season. Not all of this nonsense. Simply building the best possible physics.
Making a dollar work like a dollar should.
Everyone spent five years optimising inside the constraint.
Someone finally deleted it. Act accordingly.
