I’m so glad god made me a millennial. I’ll leave it at that.
The takeaway here is not that young voters are suddenly all Democrats. It's that Gen Z is swingy. This is a generation raised on instant gratification, frustrated by the status quo and rising cost of living. They want change. It's that simple.

Close call between him and Netanyahu on who has done more to destroy his group’s reputation with the Democratic Party. Relatedly: we should give Sherrod Brown a gun.

“Trump is a two-year problem. BAJAA solves a three-decade one.” INTO. MY. VEINS. 😤😤😤
For years, I’ve been working on a simple problem: it takes too long to build the things we need to power America with clean, affordable energy. The bipartisan Senate infrastructure package not only includes my priorities to build more renewable projects, but it also protects ratepayers from rising energy costs. It’s not perfect, especially with Trump in the White House and his finger on the scale. But he’s a two-year problem. BAAJA solves a three-decade one. Hakeem Jeffries would like a word!
There’s functionally no difference between Dems having 225 vs 245 seats in 2027, but I think it’d be good for the GOP (and America) to have a fresh start in 20 or so R+10 House districts in 2028. Plus give a chance for some Max Rose-type Dems to distinguish themselves.

News in @PunchbowlNews PM: Democratic aides from the EPW and ENR committees held a briefing today for around 30 staffers from across the Senate Democratic caucus on the bipartisan permitting reform bill. @SearchlightInst hosted as well. Dems full speed ahead selling this thing

If you care about finally getting a handle on data centers, passing BAJAA is a no-brainer. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I have a lot of respect for @RoKhanna , but I want to make two points: First, why the line of attack he’s pushing here is wrong on the merits, and second, why it would be a big strategic blunder for Democrats to validate it. 🧵

There are trade-offs inherent in every policy decision and the people pretending that there aren't are not being on the level. Congress can do something about data centers AND unleash a torrent of clean energy right after the election. They'd be foolish not to! wordsinsearchlight.org/p/con…

This really gets at the heart of it: for the better part of a generation, the American people simply have not been getting the government they vote for—for better or for worse. This in particular has caused Republicans to adopt increasingly more extreme policy stances because they know they'll never be in a place where they're held accountable by voters. The filibuster protects them from that. Reforming the filibuster won't solve all of the problems in our government, but from reining in an out of control executive to placing a check on the imperial Supreme Court to actually passing legislation that will have a tangible impact on people's lives (without having to contort itself through the asinine reconciliation process), it will go a pretty long way!
Perhaps the single strongest argument to ending the filibuster, imo, is this. Yes, it would surely result in much more partisan legislation on both sides, for good and ill. But at least the American people would get what they voted for.
