I’d love to work closely with designers, especially on making sure accessibility and usability are baked in from the start, and that design-dev handover is as smooth and useful as possible.
I have experience building accessible components and am looking to expand that knowledge, especially in auditing and remediating accessibility issues (as per WCAG 2.2).
I’m looking for a front-end web developer role full of accessibility work. I’m a big fan of semantic HTML, know my way around CSS, React, Next.js, some TypeScript, and I plan to get even better at those.
Took me a while, but finally published my notes from @ffconf: dev.to/terezak/ffconf-2023-3…

“asking you to repeat yourself for a 5th time seems excessive. So I only half grasp the conversation we’re having. Or you ask me a follow up question and I realize I have NO IDEA what we’re talking about.”

I need to join all the praise of #ffconf. Had high expectations and it didn't disappoint (except maybe that it felt over too quickly). So many lovely and interesting people doing good things on the web!
Can't wait for next year ❤️ and for the recordings to come out 😊

I think designers underestimate just how good, usable, inclusive, & sometimes even refreshingly delightful "boring" design is.
- Visible labels & instructions.
- Link underlines!
- Good text contrast.
- Lists!
- Links! (to separate pages vs. modal dialogs)
Usable > aesthetic.

Has anyone equating 'living with it' with a vaccine-only strategy explained how we deal with long COVID - a biological multi-system disease affecting 'healthy' people with 'mild' disease?
I get that you don't care about CV, but you ok with mass chronic illness in the 'healthy'?

I wish that the things I need to do to keep my mental health stable and the things I need to do to keep myself financially afloat were the same things.
Or at least that I had enough energy and time to do both.
I feel like I'm always dropping at least one ball.
All of this. The awe at how much more you're making now, still being the lowest paid and only underpaid person at your company. The questioning of why you're not going out to lunch with everyone. The disbelief when they just throw all the uneaten food in the bin. And so much more
