A field labelled 'Date' leaves the event unclear. Use 'Visit date' and add: 'Enter the date the visit took place.' Trialinx lets you add help text to form fields.

ALT Illustrative field-planning example with fictional dates. A visit takes place on 14 September 2026 and the researcher enters the data on 16 September. Label the field Visit date and add the help text: Enter the date the visit took place. Record 14 September. Planning example, not a product screenshot.
Test a repeating section with two different fictional entries. Remove the first row and check that the remaining row keeps its own values. Trialinx supports repeating groups of fields with add and remove controls.
For a select field, check the label you show and the value you store. Select each option in a test entry, then compare its value with your codebook. In Trialinx, select options have separate labels and values.
For a 'greater than 10' display rule, test 9, 10 and 11. At 10, the follow-up field should stay hidden. Write the expected result before testing. Trialinx supports conditional field visibility.
Before publishing a study form, leave a required field blank in the preview. Check the message the data collector sees. Then try the optional fields. Trialinx's builder lets you preview the form before use.
