Rise of the ‘fit-fluencer’: “We have people coming in with rashes because a TikTok said shampoo would clear their acne” Make sure you are getting your nutrition advice from a Registered Dietitian @CORUIreland & not an influencer!

Fully agree @AherneMairead. CKD care needs a multidisciplinary approach and nutrition is a key component @trust_indi @CKJsocial @IrishKidneyAs @worldkidneyday

When a patient with CKD is elderly &malnourished dietary approach needs to balance kidney-friendly restrictions with adequate nutrition to prevent further decline - full nutritional assessment is essential. Unfortunately not enough community or acute dietitians to support

Very interesting data. Community Dietitians are essential in supporting GPs preventing CKD progression, reducing hospital admissions, and improving patients' quality of life through tailored nutritional interventions in CKD 1-3 @trust_indi

Well said @trust_indi 👏 “it’s not just pay, it’s not just numbers, it’s people”
6/6 Nobody wants to engage in industrial action but due to the lack of engagement from the HSE we have been left with no other option. As we have said before, it’s not just pay, it’s not just numbers, it’s people.
5/6 Waiting times for dietetic services have increased dramatically in the last year, worryingly the greatest waiting times are experienced by the youngest and oldest members of our society, those who need our services the most….
4/6 This means that dietetic departments are missing an average of 20% of their staff at given time. As we come out of celebrating international women’s day this is not a good reflection on our health service.
