Jason Goes to Hell (1993) ended with Jason dragged into Hell and Freddy Krueger pulling his hockey mask underground. That ending promised something much bigger. Ten years later, Freddy vs. Jason (2003) finally arrived. Freddy resurrects Jason to terrorize Springwood, but the movie barely explores their connection in Hell. What makes this frustrating is that the writers actually considered stories involving Hell before abandoning them. We finally got the crossover, but the supernatural mythology established in Jason Goes to Hell was largely left unexplored.
