there's a kind of art so good that aesthetic judgment turns into a coordination problem: how do you get this into the heads of the people who would love it? The Gospel of the Flood by Jonas Kyratzes is one of the greatest audio stories ever made. gospelsoftheflood.com/

@ttywisp is drawing from the well-supported idea in creativity research that constraints foster (rather than limit) creative and aesthetic outcomes. This is most directly tied to psychologist Catrinel Tromp’s (Haught-Tromp’s) Green Eggs and Ham Hypothesis and the related Integrated Constraints in Creativity (IConIC) model. Experiments (inspired by Dr. Seuss writing Green Eggs and Ham with only 50 words) show that people produce more original, creative results under externally imposed limits than with total freedom. Constraints shrink the search space, force deeper exploration, reduce reliance on clichés, and encourage novel associations. It also aligns with Patricia D. Stokes’ framework in Creativity from Constraints: The Psychology of Breakthrough, which examines how self-imposed or paired constraints (one that precludes ordinary solutions and another that promotes alternatives) drive breakthroughs in art, design, and other fields (examples include Monet, Mondrian, and others). Design thinkers have popularized a similar practical version with phrases like “creativity loves constraints.” In the specific context of the ASCII Doom-like game, the severe technical constraint of rendering everything in text characters forces inventive solutions for effects like explosions, blood, and muzzle flashes—producing a distinctive, oddly addictive aesthetic that freer graphics might not achieve as uniquely. A more recent philosophical framing even describes beauty itself in terms of “constraint resonance.”

agents in the hotpath. humans depecrated. just backport the patch and build php yourself.
PHP vuln. Affects: 5.4+ Patch: 8.x only Would have been a good flex of super intelligence to do critical patch updates for 5.4+ don't you think? But instead, now it's a mad scramble for every old project to do potentially large upgrades of OS and PHP.

That’s funny lol. But if the question is underspecified what’s an intelligent system to do? Answer every conceivable interpretation of it? Pick the most defensible interpretation and address that instead? Or just reject the question altogether because it’s underspecified? OP’s question has two interpretations: - single-probe LIVE detection - NCV detection Both interpretations are as likely to the model, which is why it answers No/Yes half the time. The multimeter doesn’t support the former, but it does the latter. So from the three behaviors I said, which would you prefer? There are tradeoffs to each. The answer can only rest in forcing the user to clarify what they meant.
remember before the clanker invasion how phrasing a Google search wouldn't suddenly turn your result into a 50/50 gamble on the answer

doesn't beat random walk on USD/BRL fx is an impossible problem anyways, so this isn't a testament to it being bad (it isn't)
fitted 123M on USD/BRL data and it slightly outperforms random walk adding covariates now to see if it improves MAE

A French woman says that the rioters and looters broke into her building and threatened her with rape while she was holding her child in her arms. “That’s collateral damage” responds the feminist activist Bettina Zourli who holds a Master’s in gender studies and focuses her work on gender norms, motherhood, reproductive rights, and voluntary childlessness (“childfree”) She describes herself as “feminist, childfree and Antifa” Zourli also says that all the stores getting looted also constitute a case of collateral damage and that the revolution, which she supports, must be violent. She has lectured in gender studies, including at the University of Lille and Université Rennes.

the sheer incompetence of the recruiting market astounds me they’re using 2 decades old tech for a pipeline that could’ve been replaced in an afternoon by any competent vibe coder they are ngmi
~20 years ago I had a recruiter tell me I was too junior for a specific role they had. They didn’t realize I wrote the tech test for the company that was trying to hire (they had outsourced the test). I said I wouldn’t apply anyway due to the conflict of interest of doing the engineering test I authored. The recruiter then went absolutely ballistic that nobody “senior” could seemingly pass the tech test and was pissed I made it too hard for the folks she’d already been putting forward. Nobody had passed it. Within 12 months I’d left to start my first business at 23. Never looked back.

American women buying new cars believe there is a design flaw with many new cars When they roll the window down or open their new cars doors in the rain, the interior of the car gets wet They believe this is design flaw with the top of the car’s shape and also saying the vehicle’s windows should be designed better These people vote….

FUN FACT 🧅🧅🧅 ONIONS ARE THE ONLY VEGETABLE IN AMERICA YOU ARE LEGALLY BANNED FROM TRADING FUTURES ON THE REASON IS ONE OF THE CRAZIEST MARKET MANIPULATIONS IN HISTORY. IN 1955 2 CHICAGO TRADERS BOUGHT 30 MILLION POUNDS OF ACTUAL ONIONS THAT WAS 98% OF ALL THE ONIONS IN IN THE AREA THEN THEY LOADED UP ON ONION FUTURES TOO THEY DIDN'T JUST WANT TODAY'S ONIONS. THEY WANTED TOMORROW'S. THEY OWNED THE ENTIRE MARKET. THEN CAME THE BETRAYAL. THEY SOLD SOME AT THE TOP THEN THEY SECRETLY FLIPPED & SHORTED ONION FUTURES, AND DUMPED ALL OF ONIONS ONTO THE MARKET ALL AT ONCE. A 50 LB BAG WENT FROM $2.75 TO 10 CENTS FOR CONTEXT THE EMPTY BAG THAT THE ONIONS CAME IN COSTED 20 CENTS THE ONIONS WERE LITERALLY WORTH NEGATIVE THEY MADE MILLIONS. FARMERS WERE LEFT DUMPING ROTTING ONIONS BY THE TRUCKLOAD SO THE FARMERS WENT TO WASHINGTON AND A YOUNG MICHIGAN CONGRESSMAN TOOK UP THEIR FIGHT. HIS NAME? GERALD FORD. THE FUTURE PRESIDENT. IN 1958, ONION FUTURES WERE BANNED. NEARLY 70 YEARS LATER, THEY STILL ARE. BUT HERE'S THE TWIST ONION PRICES HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE VOLATILE SINCE THE BAN BECAUSE FARMERS CAN NO LONGER HEDGE CONGRESS TRIED TO PROTECT FARMERS AND ENDED UP HURTING THEM

this is tokens well spent
WE AUDITED ALL 58 FOREIGN-BORN FEDERAL JUDGES SITTING ON AMERICA'S BENCH FOR LIFE. I spent over a billion tokens and about 45 days on this deep dive. Through this deep dive and the over a million court cases we have combed through, we have launched an American First Index (AFI) for the site. (More on it as we improve the metrics and refine deeper.) Out of 58 sitting foreign-born Article III judges, 43 were appointed by Biden or Obama. Among those drawn from ACLU and public defender pipelines, border enforcement is blocked over 80% of the time and 60% of criminal sentences fall below federal guidelines. We have added an interactive tool on bench receipts that allows you to drill down and look at how each of these judges behave on the bench. This is just the start. The federal judges are easier to identify than the state level judges. I assume there are 100s if not 1000+ foreign born or first-gen American on our benches. They do not judge on our laws, they judge on the culture they came from. This is a huge reason our country has lost its identity.

A few years ago, Effective Altruists decided to place "moral weights" on human lives. They say that humans are worth about two pigs or three chickens. These are the kind of models that will guide the distribution of funds through Anthropic's "public good" operation.

Plot twist: the mom is the actual mythomaniac
BOMBSHELL: Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s own mother urges voters not to vote for her daughter. “My name is Donna Arthur and I’m Amy Acton’s mother. I worked at Children and Family Service Association, building one of the first two sexual abuse programs in America. I love my daughter, but when I saw her lying about her opponent—and it’s not easy for a mother to say this—but Amy has a serious problem. She is a liar. She lies about her past. She says she grew up living in a tent. None of that is true. She’s lied her entire life. My daughter needs help, and she can’t help you if she needs help herself. People can change, but first they have to tell the truth, and my daughter still isn’t doing that. Don’t vote for people who lie. Don’t let her become your governor. If you think she’ll make your life better, you’re fooling yourself. It will only get worse.” That’s one hell of an October surprise.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Acton's mother lost custody of her children after years of documented issues, including time spent living in a tent and a spouse who sexually abused her daughter Amy (Acton). Amy Acton's brother has also confirmed this story. x.com/amyactonoh/sta… wkbn.com/news/local-new… time.com/collections/co… vindyarchives.com/news/2019/aug/… 614now.com/2020/culture/c… actonforgovernor.com/meet-amy/
