Strong turnout in #ldnont for our regional Together for Publicly Funded Education Rally at Victoria Park Tell Doug Ford and his Education minister to stop underfunding Ontario's public education system, cease the overcrowded classroom and provide sufficient classroom supports.
We’re kicking things off at Queen’s Park ✊🏼 Education workers, students, families, and labour allies are coming together with one message: Ontario’s public schools deserve better! We’re here to demand properly funded schools, the supports students need, and respect for the people who make public education possible. This fight is bigger than any one union or any one bargaining table. It’s about protecting the future of public education. #OntEd #OntEdUnited #OSSTF

Supporting our education workers is supporting our students. Proud to stand with my Ottawa caucus colleagues, education workers, and public school advocates at today’s education rally in Ottawa. Our message to Doug Ford is simple: Bargain in good faith. Smaller class sizes. Safer schools. More staff and student supports. Fair wages. Proper funding for public education. Listen to education workers and students. #onpoli #onted #ontedunited #ontedsolidaire

“And our members have been saying for far too long, eight years under this government, that they can't continue to do more with less. And they can't continue to hold a system up with the number of cuts that have been made in the system.” The Ford government’s cuts have consequences: larger classes, fewer supports, and growing pressure on teachers and education workers. 🎙️ On this week's @rabbleca podcast, #OSSTF President @marthahradowy discusses what’s at stake for Ontario’s students and why OSSTF/FEESO members are preparing to take a strike vote in November. 🎧 Podcast episode: bit.ly/4BllQUw #OntEd #OntEdUnited

Make it make sense - 24 Registered Nurses (RNs) laid off from one unit at an Ontario hospital, with patients having to be relocated. The entire unit was shut down. We keep talking about nursing shortages, yet nurses are being laid off. Ontario continues to have the lowest RN to population ratio in all of Canada, yet nurses continue to be cut. What is going on? October 26th is election day. Please vote. Your vote matters because not only is health care political, everything is. #onpoli

If Torontian don’t remember or know about the Walkerton water disaster that killed multiple people and left many others with lifetime defects, they may want to do some research before they vote for Brad Bradford and his water privatization idea.

There is a very disturbing trend being seen in early voting. Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio are reporting difficulties getting the machines to accept democratic votes. The machines change them back to Republican unless the voter persists, pressing several times to get the correct vote to go through. Check your machine, check to see that it accepted the correct vote. Make sure your voice counts.
