The other cats had some minor issues from fleas that required vet trips, but the bulk of the vet bills were to save Sergeant Pepper's life. The vet was paid and she is better, but we had to not pay bills and max out my credit cards to do it. Now we are 2-3 months behind on electric, 2 months behind on car insurance, I need to get my meds filled, my partner needs to get to Philly for a doctor appointment, and my right front tire blew out over the weekend and now my hub is making noise. I have $5 to my name for the rest of the month and my phone bill ($58ish after tax) will be due before my next SSD check. Any amount helps. Please help us stay housed and alive. ALT Sergeant Pepper, an adult tortishell girl kitty, stands in between my legs looking at me while I pet her. I make creative use of my thighs as a coffee cup holder. We are on my bed. She is purring. I make kitty go brrrrrr. *** Her follow up at the vet went VERY WELL!! She does not have cancer! The xrays looked really bad the first time because she has asthma and had pneumonia. Steroids and antibiotics cleared up the pneumonia & the follow up shows she does not have cancer or a fungal infection like they initially thought. This is great news, but we had to use the money for the bills to pay the veterinarian. Without the meds, she would have died. We had no choice. Now we have to pay my car insurance ($150 WAS due 10/16), get gas in the car, pay for parking downtown for doctor appointments, and take the kittens to the vet ($160 for both). The state stopped paying my Medicare premium, so my SSD is $174 LOWER than it was. The caseworker confirmed I cannot get it back. Please help.
