Statement regarding Ukraine Front Line's tax-exempt status. If you're a donor or other interested party, please read.
On Saturday, September 19, Ukraine Front Line (UFL) discovered an administrative compliance issue relating to IRS 990 filings from a previous Board term. As a result of this issue, UFL’s federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status was revoked on May 15, 2026.
It is important to note that this revocation was automatic and strictly administrative. It is not the result of any finding of financial misconduct, misuse of donor funds, or any problem with our work.
The revocation was posted to the IRS’s Auto-Revocation List on August 11, 2026. UFL has not yet received the IRS notification; we only found out through an email from YourCause that went to a spam folder.
The current Board did not create this issue. It was inherited from prior leadership and only became apparent when the current Board reviewed our compliance status following questions about YourCause donations.
Our priority now is to correct the situation responsibly, protect our donors, and ensure that we remain fully compliant going forward. We are seeking retroactive reinstatement, and have hired a professional to guide us through the process. It is expected to take 6-10 months.
Our president, Robin Rohrback, is paying the professional’s fees herself. Your donation money is meant to support Ukraine’s defenders, not correct a past Board’s mistake.
We are taking steps to strengthen our compliance controls, including Board-level oversight of filings and consultation with an external compliance expert, so that this cannot happen again.
The only responsible course of action now is to pause accepting new donations until this is resolved. This is a precautionary measure intended to protect both you, our donors, and the organization while the tax implications are clarified.
This does not mean that Ukraine Front Line is shutting down. Too many people rely on us; we cannot turn our backs on them. We are merely on hold while we resolve this problem and find the path forward. For the teams we support, existing operations and previously arranged assistance will continue wherever legally and financially possible. For donors, we will provide updates along the way, including the reinstatement status and guidance on tax implications for your 2026 filings.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported Ukraine Front Line and the people we assist in Ukraine. If you choose to withdraw your support because of this, we understand, and we thank you for coming this far with us. If you choose to continue supporting us when the time comes, we thank you for that, too.

Fellarinasaurus Bonk is wading into dangerous waters here. Read this before you join a misguided, ill-informed witch hunt against LLCs serving Ukraine.
TL;DR: 501(c)3s can't provide lethal aid. LLCs can. LLCs therefore serve an extremely valuable purpose for Ukraine.
US-based 501(c)3s, of which we are one, are legally prohibited from providing any kind of lethal aid. We have to tread very carefully to make sure we stay on the right side of those laws, or we risk losing our nonprofit status and wind up not being able to help Ukraine at all.
When I say "lethal aid," I'm talking about, for example, shotguns that can be used to shoot down drones. They're being used defensively, but we still can't provide them because they are weapons.
This limitation is unbelievably frustrating, but we stick with the 501(c)3 status because we understand the importance of that status for our donors, and we don't wish to deny them that.
LLC s can provide those things that 501(c)3s can't. This is one extremely valid reason to be an LLC instead of a 501(c)3.
Being an LLC does NOT automatically mean that they're taking the profit for themselves. It's simply an incorporation structure that provides more leeway than the 501(c)3 structure does.

Charlie is extremely pleased with the CAT7s we received for our incoming infantry from @uafrontline !! Charlie loves CAT7, it is the best APPROVED tourniquet there is! Thank you SO MUCH for ensuring we have the best for our infantry!!
Let's be real: the most important thing here is the kittens. Because kittens.
That said:
Your local Buy Nothing and Freecycle groups are also an excellent way to get suitcases. If you use Reddit, ask your local subreddit's mods if you can post asking for suitcases.
Even after all this time, people get excited about being able to contribute to Ukraine this way.
All of the supplies that @uafrontline brings to Ukraine arrive in suitcases or wheeled duffle bags. Once we unpack everything we sent the suitcases to soldiers to help them transport their own gear.
This one is now with Azov where it has quickly been claimed by the kittens.
Soldiers, we still have suitcases left. If you need one fill out the request form on the website.
If you are coming to Ukraine for any reason, an easy way to help is go to a thrift shop and get a used suitcase. Fill it with supplies to donate. If you don't know what to get, no one says no to protein snacks and protein powder. Contact [email protected] and we can give you a Nova Poshta address to get it to us.
If you are giving suitcases, wheeled duffle bags or hard-sided suitcases are preferred, ideally in black, green, or brown.

The subreddit r/ukraine is hosting an AMA with Olena Tregub, advocate for accountability in defense procurement and founder of the independent anti-corruption commission NAKO.
Questions are open now. She will begin answering at noon Kyiv time on the 16th.
Ask her how Ukraine fights corruption from the inside, what NAKO's due diligence work actually catches, or how sanctions enforcement against Russia could be tightened.

Last month, an ambulance belonging to a Khyzhak Brigade medical unit was hit and gutted. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
We set aside $2K for them and then dedicated a weekly raffle to them. The end result was about $6500 to go toward getting them back on their feet. Or wheels. You know what we mean.
$1580.26 restocked their medicine cabinet, as pictured here.
$1572.58 went to an oxygen concentrator, which should be reaching them this week.
We'll let you know what they do with the remaining $3400.
Thank you for helping them get back to work.

L-R in the last photo: Arcaist, me, Maks, and Teufel.
Maks an AFU veteran and is your Ukrainian volunteer who works with Arcaist to get requests from units to Arcaist and then arranges delivery within Ukraine to those same units. Maks presented Arcaist, Teufel, and me in Kyiv last month.
It represents literal years of support by you through UFL to the soldiers defending Ukraine. Each patch is a legacy of faith and hope that you have provided to a people that continue to tell us that they are ever-thankful for that help. These patches are love, encouragement, determination, gratitude, and Ukrainian ferocity made manifest.

PAV has already sent out a lot of the supplies you sent over with @UFL_Robin last month. We've got a runner going later this month and Robin's likely doing another supply run in November.
Contributing to PAV's medical supply fund at the link Rachel provided will help ensure that they have a steady stream of the supplies their teams need.
Our latest shipment of medical supplies have arrived!
All of these were provided by donations to our medical supply fund through @uafrontline. Donate here to support the foreign teams in Ukraine and get them genuine supplies from North American Rescue at discounted rates.

This excellent thread concisely explains why Richard Woodruff asking for information on units in Kherson is a big problem.
The beauty of the Ukraine support sphere is that it includes people from all walks of life, all over the world. It often takes my breath away.
But it comes with a big downside: because many supporters, however well-intentioned and big-hearted, never speak directly to Ukrainian soldiers or the people working on the ground to support them, opsec isn't drilled into them and they don't know how to identify problematic behaviors.
It's not their fault. As my high school astronomy teacher often said, how are you supposed to know if nobody tells you?
This is us--well, @MrDouglasHall--telling you.
Human
repair
kits.
Might have to call them that from now on.
"Hey if it's ok, I will take some supplies from the ambulance to make my friend an IFAK. I bought him one but he already had to use it and needs another." I told my brother he didn't need to do that because I have all the things needed to make an IFAK for his friend. He was extremely relieved and very happy.
That's thanks to so many of you. You all contribute in some way by sending me supplies, ordering from the wishlist, or buying coffees on BMC.
I am extremely passionate about being able to provide good quality, approved item IFAKS so I pack them myself because then I KNOW what's in them.
I call them Human Repair Kits because that's what they are.
So just a little #FiverFriday thanks from me for helping me save lives. Remember to toss a $5 to anyone you feel makes a difference here in Ukraine.
