A single blue whale's body stores about 33 tonnes of CO₂ for its lifetime.
That's roughly what 1,500 trees absorb in a year.

Did you know that Europe is home to one of the last remaining rainforests in the world? Yes, you heard that right! The Perucica rainforest in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a rare gem in Europe's climate landscape.
“As Jim Morrison stood on top of Everest and looked at the mountainside below, he considered whether he would survive what he was about to do. Below him were 9,000ft of icy snow and rock at a 50-degree incline. Any error, any split-second decision to turn the wrong way on his skis would be deadly. Then he launched himself over the edge.” ⛷️

If you're feeling the worries and noise of the world at the moment, I'm sending you this beautiful walk among the chestnut trees, the pale sun flickering through the leaves and falling in pools of light on the ground. The river is sparkling at the end of the lane, and all around the birds are singing out into the morning as the mist clears. I hope it brings a little Peak District calm to your day.

The Green Man is one of the oldest and most mysterious figures found in England’s churches and ancient buildings.
A face formed from leaves, vines and branches, carved into stone and wood across the country for centuries. From village churches to great cathedrals, he appears watching silently from pillars, arches and roof bosses.
Some saw him as a symbol of life, renewal and the land itself. Old English customs like May Day celebrations and Jack in the Green processions still carry echoes of that same ancient connection between the people, the countryside and the changing seasons. 🏴
