Do you know of any organisations that can generate microfilm or microfiche? (Not scan them, but make them.)
Forgot to tell you:
This will be SO MUCH FUN for the right archivist. Deep, hard, steady work.
We're hiring!
The Flickr Foundation needs an Archivist. We need proactive archival practice in everything, and a trained professional to co-design our challenge to keep Flickr pictures visible for 100 years.
Is this you? We'd love to hear from you. boards.greenhouse.io/flickro…
Some happy news @flickrfdn to start the year - we got our first grant, from the National Endowment for the Humanities (@NEHgov), to pursue our Data Lifeboat concept. #STOKED
At that stage in my day/concentration where I have two windows open and next to each other, both with Gmail loaded.
Turns out you don't have to kick your robot to test its balance. youtu.be/XEp3OV9k_O4

I don’t think enough people have seen this. It’s Kurt Vonnegut talking to his wife about going out to get an envelope (we’re here on earth to fart around):
I really enjoyed this conversation with Temi and Amanda about our emerging 100-year plan practice @flickrfdn.
Apologies in advance for all my giggling.
Have a listen to this "Our Digital Futures" podcast episode where Foundation research partner, Dr. Temi Odumosu, and ED, George Oates, discuss our 100-year plan practice and its implications.
Thanks to Amanda Meeks at @permanentorg for the conversation! buzzsprout.com/2102015/13338…
Hey, look! A change of leadership and running things has happened @_museuminabox. End of an era! And I really enjoyed developing wonderfully simple tech, and thanks very much to Adrian for taking the baton.

We've got some important news to share!
After 8 years at the helm, @ukglo is leaving us to preserve the world's photos (well, lots of them) at @flickrfdn; and @amcewen is stepping up from just-doing-the-tech to take over.

Are you one of the 50+ superb engineers I've worked with during my career?
Did you enjoy that experience?
If so, will you please either apply for this or take a moment to think about your network and suggest the role to a friend or colleague you think would enjoy it?
We're hiring our founding TECH LEAD. Salary £90-105k.
We seek for a senior full stack mechanic with architectural tendencies. You enjoy managing tools, writing usable documentation, and talking about work.

It doesn't get much better than having @jessamyn in your team to support community.
Today's her first day working with me @flickrfdn to help grow the Flickr Commons. I'm so stoked. 🌸

#lunchgoal met in style in Borough today at Padella: A really delicious plate of Tagliarini with dried chilli, garlic, and pangrattato for £9. I would be lying if I didn't mention the affogato I also had, for £6.
Today for lunch I read out loud Ted Chiang's recent, excellent piece in the New Yorker. I wanted to ensure I absorbed it all.
"If A.I. is as powerful a tool as its proponents claim, they should be able to find other uses for it besides intensifying the ruthlessness of capital.
Actually, I've always liked the idea of being a Luddite in its original sense, so pleased to read that also referenced there. newyorker.com/science/annals…
"If there is any lesson that we should take from stories about genies granting wishes, it’s that the desire to get something without effort is the real problem." #PREACH
I've set myself a new lunch goal: find something yummy from @boroughmarket under £10. Today I'm having a cheesy olive roll from @BreadAhead and a Braeburn apple. £3.40.
