So I was asked how much of a disaster Carmela's dad really was as a general contractor?🥲
Well, Hugh might act like a proud, old-school Italian craftsman who built half of North Jersey with his bare hands, but the cold reality on the pavement is that he cut every single corner available.
The only reason the guy survived in the construction racket for 40 years without pulling a prison sentence or getting sued into bankruptcy is because he relied on Pudgy Walsh down at the local building department to look the other way and rubber-stamp his sloppy blueprints. The second Pudgy retired to Florida, Hugh’s entire operation fell apart because he didn't know how to run a clean, legitimate job site that could pass a real inspection.
When the sky opens up and it starts pouring over the job site, Carmela is losing her mind over the structural integrity of the build, and all Hugh can do is break her balls and tell her he’s been using that exact same stamped lumber since the Korean War😂
He completely ignored the fact that utility grade pine is meant for light framing, not the heavy load bearing structural peaks of a multi-million dollar residential property. Tony exposed the whole fraud during their brutal blowout fight over his gambling debts.
Hugh left that house so fundamentally unstable that the roof was a literal ticking time bomb, proving that without a corrupt insider at city hall to grease the wheels, the old man didn't have the makings of a varsity builder🙂

It’s astonishing how terrible modern writing is and how this even gets greenlit at all. Just look at this shit, man..

Man, Bioware is closing. This sucks.
In their honor, here's a thread of all the good games they've made in the last 10 years
