I just spent 4 days on a project that should have taken 2 if I had just spent less time fiddling with AI. The pendulum is starting to swing back for me.

A lot of maplibre content in my feed lately, celebrating features the Mapbox team introduced in 2014. Not sure how to feel about that.

Scavengers Reign (2023) is now available on Netflix (at least, in the US & UK). Please watch this beautiful, weird, frightening, fresh, poetic, fascinating sci-fi masterpiece. We have the power to collectively spawn a Season 2. 🖖

Vision Pro is cool. When the "immersive video" works, it is really impressive. I think doing productivity work on it will be a little like the iPad though. Sure you could do it but it has a narrow set of strengths and some important weaknesses vs the desktop.

I'm more excited by the entertainment use-case. Puts the AppleTV+ investment in perspective, since it will be hard to convince studios to invest in content.

SCAVENGERS REIGN is such a great series in a lot of ways, but what I like most is how central parasites are to the plot. ALIEN did this too. Parasitism is something that's pervasive in nature but not represented much in fiction.

I can’t believe Intuit is shutting down Mint! I hated the app for a couple years after acquisition but lately it felt like they turned things around.

Remarkable that CoD Warzone is so unreliable that they have a method to quickly rejoin matches after a crash. I would have focused on fixing the crashes 🤷‍♂️

California Condors are experiencing a catastrophic outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). There is an immense effort underway to locate, test, and treat condors. Please consider donating to support these efforts. peregrinefund.org/condor-cri… Image (c) E. Buechley

Twitter's "For you" tab got really terrible for me about a week ago. Instagram-tier content. This is the first change I've noticed since Elon took over.

I'm getting FOMO from all the cool new React framework stuff out there, though it seems like I'd need to use a vendor-specific platform (Next/Vercel) to adopt RSC. That seems... really bad?

There has to be some middle ground between banning Jordan Peterson from the internet and Youtube shamelessly promoting him to me every time I search for guitar lessons. It's not exactly the complex free speech issue people make it out to be.

With more than a 90% decline of marine habitats, it’s time we stand up for oceans. #AB1407 is a critical step towards aligning CA to invest the resources to protect our biodiversity & sustain our coastal communities. Join TNC & @MontereyAq in thanking @addis4cc for protecting 🌊
