this poem remains one of my absolute favourite things i’ve written. there’s something so sweet and comforting about knowing that others have felt something in it too, and that it has found a place within their hearts 💙
Last, but not least, we are delighted to announce our POETRY nominations for Best of the Net 2027
Congratulations Sumayya Arshed @underthfigtree , Anne Walters, El Johnson, Karina Longo @TheDarkestStar_, Dawn Rhodes-Shaw @ScriptEyes & Holly Taylor @holtaylorpoetry

not to romanticise desolation, but being depressed does wonders for your writing. i can personally vouch for that.
any person with a basic grasp of media literacy and critical thinking would be horrified at the gratuitous sexualization and mischaracterisation in this wuthering heights adaptation

indie magazines with their small dedicated teams and truckload of passion and vigour have my entire heart editing can be such a nerve-wracking task, and then there are these people who basically just run on caffeine and a profound love for literature and craft. very admirable

i vividly remember the day i wrote this poem two years ago visiting this veryy old train station in lahore. the heat was insane back then, but lahore was still a city that hadn't abandoned me. life was gentler.
