My life before Narconon was in the worst condition imaginable. I was a heavy drug addict and alcoholic for 15 years. I had already attended several other rehab programs, but every relapse only made me worse. Narconon is different. narconon.ly/4rzegQE

PsychSearch Psych Drugs Kill More Than Heroin Colin Taufer Every day, politicians, the press, and the president condemn the heroin epidemic currently ravaging the country. They talk about its toll in lives lost and communities ruined. They appropriate millions for prevention, treatment recovery, and drug education. They declare it a public health emergency and proclaim their commitment to fight the scourge with the Prescription Opioid and Heroin Epidemic Awareness Week every September. Yet as bad as the curse of heroin is in this country, there is a much worse plague. Psychiatrists kill more Americans than heroin dealers. When he met with adversity, Marine Corps veteran Jason Simcakoski was trained to overpower challenges with the perseverance to win battles. But there was one opponent Corporal Simcakoski could not overcome: psychiatrist David Houlihan. On August 28, 2014, Houlihan added suboxone to Simcakoski’s already crippling cocktail of 14 (fourteen!) prescribed drugs which included antipsychotics, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants and the opioid painkiller tramadol. Simcakoski was so sedated he could barely speak. Two days later, he died from “mixed drug toxicity” leaving behind a widow and young child. Houlihan, as readers of PsychSearch know, is the psychiatrist known as the “Candy Man”, he gave out drugs like candy. He earned this nickname as the chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in Wisconsin where he quintupled the number of opiate prescriptions under his watch. (Prior to his work at Veterans Affairs, Houlihan was disciplined by the Iowa Board of Medicine for being “inappropriately engaged in a social relationship with a patient”.) This is not an isolated, headline-grabbing incident of one rotten psychiatrist extinguishing a life and destroying a family with deadly psych drugs. In 2014, 10,574 people died of heroin overdose while 15,778 people died from psychiatric drugs, nearly 50% more. The villain of this epidemic is not the shady dope dealer in a dark alley, or South American drug cartels, but the psych drug pusher writing prescriptions that poison the brain and kill. psychsearch.net/colin-taufer…

It cannot be denied that some people experience mental difficulties which are sometimes very serious, but one of the main default "solutions" to those difficulties is nothing short of chemical restraint coupled with psychiatric guesswork that does nothing to address the real cause of the disturbance. Mind-altering psychiatric drugs are being used to mask personal problems. The process of chemically masking turmoil can give the wrong impression, making a patient, their family and friends think the prescribed drugs are working. What has actually happened is the patient has been chemically restrained and is manifesting the natural response of the body to the introduction of a foreign substance that's confusing its normal functions. When the chemical restraint isn't achieved, the answer is to up the dose or change the mind-altering drug until the person isn't able to function, and to then hail those "results" as being demonstrably effective. But it's all smoke and mirrors. These people have been drugged, sedated, tranquilised and knocked out. It's inhumane and making people into patients for life. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #psychiatry #mentalhealthmatters

Seroquel is a drug for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. So why is it being handed out for sleep? Over the last 10 years, Seroquel prescribing has gone up 30%, and two-thirds of that is for sleep. In my opinion, using it for insomnia should be seen as malpractice. Look at the label: big weight gain, high blood sugar and diabetes, cholesterol problems, increased stroke risk. And tardive dyskinesia, a potentially permanent movement disorder around the mouth and tongue. The label says it can develop even after brief treatment at low doses. So how did we get here? When the DEA cracked down on pill mills, doctors got nervous about prescribing benzos and Ambien. Their patients were used to strong sedatives, so many switched them to Seroquel. That was a win for the doctors. Not for patients. Here's what I want you to understand: insomnia isn't a nighttime problem. It's a hyperarousal problem. Your brain is stuck keyed up. What actually helps: 1. Cut stimulants 2. Build real downtime into your day 3. Stop compulsive scrolling in your breaks 4. Breathwork or meditation, 20 minutes twice a day for 7 days 5. Journal your worries earlier in the day 6. Walk 7,000 to 10,000 steps If you're already on a sedative, don't stop it suddenly. Come off slowly with your prescriber. Want to come off safely? Comment TAPER and I'll send you my free safe tapering guide.

WHO Report Warns Psychiatric Hospitals Violate Patient Autonomy and Rights, With Nearly Half of Residents Held Involuntarily The new WHO guidelines warn that institutional psychiatric treatment can separate people from their communities, limit their autonomy, and expose them to risks of human rights violations. Nearly half of people living in large psychiatric hospitals and social care institutions are held against their will for months, years, or even decades. More than 1.2 million Americans are involuntarily committed each year. A Harvard School of Public Health study says psychiatric hospitals continue to use forced electroshock, chemical restraints, and prolonged mechanical restraint—practices that violate the United Nations Convention against Torture (UNCAT), which the U.S. has ratified. Despite growing recognition of these harms, the United States is moving in the opposite direction. The American Bar Association has noted that a human rights-centered approach requires shifting away from primarily medicalized responses toward person-centered support, yet “legislative reforms have often become procedural formalities that legitimize restrictive interventions under the guise of legal protection.” These findings underscore the scale of coercive practices still embedded in institutional mental health systems. cchrint.org/2026/10/16/cchr-…
