Everyone who called $QUBIC vaporware owes you a reply this week.
Its science team just landed a fourth peer reviewed paper in 2026, and this one tests the entire thesis you are holding.
The paper is being presented in Nice right now at EA 2026, the International Conference on Artificial Evolution.
A year ago, the research was essentially a single preprint.
The 2026 run, city by city:
1. Berlin at IEEE ICMLT: Neuraxon v2.0, a blueprint for neural networks that grow instead of being hand built.
2. Osaka at AMLDS: trinary logic (excitatory, neutral, inhibitory) kept networks stable far more often than binary.
3. San Francisco at the AGI 2026 conference: the Multi Neuraxon architecture, published in Springer proceedings.
4. Nice at EA 2026: "From Synapse to Society", selected for oral presentation.
Why does this one matter more than the other three?
EA is a conference built entirely around methods inspired by natural evolution.
That is the exact principle behind Aigarth, Qubic's path to AGI. Intelligence that is grown and selected, not engineered line by line.
This is not a random AI venue. It is a room built to stress test exactly that idea, and the reviewers let it in.
Now the honest part.
A peer reviewed paper is not AGI, and it is not a price target. It proves the research survives expert scrutiny, nothing more.
But in a sector full of AI claims that never face a single reviewer, four acceptances in one year is a different category of evidence.
Which other decentralized AI project can show you four?
The market trades narratives.
Qubic is getting its narrative peer reviewed.

AI just proved that the Exponential Time Hypothesis (ETH) is false. Cryptography relies on ETH, but luckily this particular discovery doesn't threaten core algorithms yet. However, ETH was thought true for almost 30 years, and is highly relevant in the field. This illustrates how AI is the true threat to crypto and security, because it can move the ground under our feet, and it's here today.
Currently, many chains are promoting their migration to "quantum safe" signatures and other schemes. Meanwhile, cryptographically-relevant quantum computers won't be around for some years, and even when they are, they'll be specialized machines, requiring special environments, rather than easily accessible mass market devices, and it will be relatively easy for authorities and regulatory frameworks to control their use, at least initially. Renting them for the purposes of hacking won't be allowed, for obvious reasons (not that this is something we should rely upon, but it impacts any objective threat analysis).
However, there are dangers with adopting these schemes. The less well-studied and more complex a cryptography algorithm, the greater the chance that a sudden shift in our understanding of theoretical computer science or mathematics, or sophisticated analysis by AI, will suddenly reveal a catastrophic bug. The first real-world harbinger of the dangers occurred when AI found issues with HAWK, a quantum-safe algorithm that was passing through NIST's standardization process at the time (it was withdrawn).
Chain operators' desire to ride narratives and exploit the tendency of web3 investors tendency to seize onto this or that carefully promoted story, who for the most part do not use crypto technology beyond holding and trading tokens, and who lack understanding of the theoretical issues involved, is certainly exploitative for a simple reason — whereas historical technical safety manias used for commercial purposes, such as Y2K, only collected money, this one also risks user safety.
Chains sell adoption of quantum safe signature schemes to token buyers and users that in reality reflect a kind of stupidity, and irresponsibility, rather than actions reflecting wise stewardship protecting people from an imminent quantum meltdown. Meanwhile, of course, while adding support for a new post quantum signature algorithms doesn't involve much engineering work, it allows them to post pictures of their logo next to photos of quantum computers, so they can sell the ignorant on how sci-fi and advanced they are, which makes it particularly attractive to them.
Important note: you'll hear about some serious people performing post quantum encryption of messages. That's different. They're calculating the risk that adversaries, such as state adversaries, perform mass storage of encrypted messages containing secrets, so that they can extract the secrets from them 10 years from now, say, when they finally have cryptographically-relevant quantum computers. This is a different kind of risk they are addressing.
The perverse tragedy of the quantum mania craze that's currently gripping crypto is that on the one hand it shows how so many chains are driven by a desire to sell tokens first, rather than pursue sound engineering practices, and on the other, their willingness to lie and risk user safety in the process. This, all while the real wolf is at the door as concerns our engineering — AI that's rapidly advancing, here today, accessible to many, and difficult to control.
What I can promise, is that DFINITY will be focusing on mitigating this real risk, and no matter the post quantum mania, we won't be joining it, and will instead try to plot the most responsible course.

Dominic took the sovereign cloud case to the Dubai AI Festival $ICP🔥
Two days on stage and in the room, plus a full feature in the State of AI 2026 report. The write-up covers Cloud Engines: enterprises picking their own nodes, open-source stacks without hidden kill switches, and software AI can update at conversation speed because it’s tamperproof.
Nine in ten organizations use AI. Fewer than half have scaled it. The report’s conclusion points at infrastructure — capital, compute, energy, governance. That’s the exact gap this stack is built for.
DFINITY was in attendance at the Dubai AI Festival, over the last two days.
@dominic_w presented 'Sovereign Cloud for the AI Era', and the festival's official report was published, The State of AI 2026, which came out with DFINITY's participation.
The report includes an article on Dominic and the Internet Computer's cloud engines.
Here's our round up of the last two days from @DubaiAIFest.

In the report, Dominic and his team describe cloud engines as an open evolution of cloud for an era in which enterprises want sovereignty and platforms that play better with AI.
Dominic lays out his vision plainly for cloud engines, explaining how an enterprise can choose the compute nodes behind its own cloud, from independent data center hardware, virtual nodes on hyperscaler clouds, and on-prem machines.

The Gap between Bitcoin and ICP is too wide...
Per @Chainspect, $BTC averages $0.263 per transaction, while @dfinity's $ICP averages $0.0000637, a 4,129x difference.
As $BTC and $ETH keep high fees to preserve scarce blockspace, other compute-and-throughput chains have reduced transaction fees to a fraction of a cent.

Firstly, there were two patents on the algorithm they took, one was issued *beginning* of this year. We want license fees at the least. Sorry to those that liked my previous post, I reworded this to be more precise. If they knew about the patent applications, then license fees could be recoverable from the beginning of their use of the proprietary tech (~2+ years) not from earlier this year.
There are some things that point in that direction in my view, e.g. 1) GitHub posts like this, note what's in the quotes, which I read like pre-emptive non-infringement positioning github.com/near/mpc_old/pull… (the algo of course re-uses the invention with a minor tweak that make it less secure), and 2) they had hired a senior DFINITY engineering manager in April 2022, who I feel would have known full well about DFINITY efforts to patent major works. We need that Google doc referenced by that GitHub pull request; NEAR if you're reading this, deleting evidence won't be helpful, maybe you'd like to voluntarily share this.
Secondly, it looks to us like their Confidential Key Derivation is basically derived from the vetKeys paper, and maybe they looked at our Rust implementation too. That wasn't patented, but completely wrong to go around passing off hard and substantial work by very serious cryptographers as your own, and also completely ridiculous. I'm sure Ilia is a more serious guy than that. We are not anti-NEAR, but this is obviously too much and has to be addressed. Note as well that passing off a competitor's academic work as your own to gain an advantage also transgresses various other laws around the world. But anyway, if this is what has happened, I'm sure Ilia, as a supporter of open source, will want proper credits and references to be added, and for their CKD article to explain where the math came from.
We're busy but will be contacting them, first to try and resolve this amicably. Meanwhile, they also need to think hard about who they choose as friends. Some of the people that came after us for them are absolutely freaky and the worst web3 has to offer. Notably, we've heard no denial, nor apology.
