Its the tides. Caused by the moon. Predictable with Newtonian mechanics.

A lot of the value i get from consumer ai is ability to cut through bureaucracy.
Holy f*ck, Elon Musk's team at spacexai just dropped a full spam killer inside Grok Bot, and it's free
DeleteMe charges $129 a year to pull your number off spam lists
Grok Bot does it for $0
It finds your number on people-search sites, files every opt-out, clicks the confirmation emails and checks again every month
Add the free Spam-Call Scrubber skill, then say these 3 lines once:
1. "Find every site that lists my phone number and home address"
2. "File the opt-out on each one and finish the confirmation emails"
3. "Check again on the 1st of every month and tell me what came back"
Say line 1 tonight
Then read how to wire it into a team that never sleeps in the article below ↓
I’ve been waiting for someone to tell this story!
Some bonds can never be broken.
#FleetwoodMacTheChain, a new documentary film, is streaming January 29 on Apple TV.
It’s so bad. I don’t want to have to explain cialis and antidepressants to a 6 and 8 year old. Mute helps but doesn’t solve.
Dodgers player Alex Call is calling out MLB and broadcasters over the ads during postseason games.
"Can we please get the soft porn ads off playoff broadcasts? My son wants to watch baseball with Dada, but how do I justify that when a half-naked woman could come on screen anytime?? This is America’s Pastime. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about this."

The ratio of predicted problems with AI to actual observed problems is pretty wild.
We need to make a Footloose movie for the ebike era. Yes people get hurt. Yes they sometimes die. But they also die in other ways via games and social media. Zero risk safety culture is a poison unto itself. The kids are outside doing wheelies and having fun. It mostly works.
E-scooters and E-bikes are everywhere now..
Two deaths have happened this week. A 37-year-old man and a 14 year-old boy were both killed in the Seattle area.
Injuries are way up according to Harborview Medical Center.
In 2020, Harborview treated 29 patients with injuries.
Last year, there were 252.
So far this year (through May), 97 patients had injuries related to e-scooters/bikes.
The cops?
In California, summer camps are unlicensed and unregulated, meaning there’s no one to call when something goes dangerously wrong.

Why is it ‘cancelled’ in the U.K. but ‘canceled’ in the U.S.?
Because we gave them that L in 1776.
I am a committed free range parent and this feels crazy. Kids, fine. Infants?! No.
After 18 months in stealth, we're ready to share what we've been building.
Introducing Lull. The world's first autonomous infant mobility platform.
Babies have one universal hack: they sleep when the car moves. Parents have one universal problem: they cannot drive a newborn around the cul-de-sac at 2am every night.
We are fixing that.
Lull is a self-driving bassinet powered by our proprietary NeuralCradle™ sleep engine. It learns your baby's circadian patterns, plots the optimal route through your neighborhood, and returns home before your coffee finishes brewing.
Co-parenting? Already solved. Lull hands off the handoff. Mom's house to Dad's house with zero Walmart-parking-lot meetups.
Built by a team of ex-Waymo, ex-Snoo, and ex-Apple Health engineers. Backed by tier-1 Sand Hill investors. 47 patents pending.
This is infrastructure for the next generation of caregiving.
Strollers, you had a good run.

A new study suggests it may be possible to regenerate cartilage lost to aging or arthritis with an oral drug or local injection, rendering knee and hip replacement unnecessary.

My biggest argument against free will is songs getting stuck in my head. Is all this solving for myself a necessary distraction for my earthly form to carry the glorious message?

One thing I learned from experience is that those who do solidly well in life never, practically never, do anything in bad faith. Reduce bad faith from, say, that tiny 5% bit to 0%, and see how it works wonders. Simple advice, @__paleologo.
I remember Taleb saying somewhere in the distant past, when he was still exceptionally sane, something like "When you can do a few thing very well, you can afford a lot of mistakes". I came to appreciate this heavy-tailedness of positive payoffs only later. *Every single firm* I have worked at was dysfunctional, in the precise sense that goals that were part of their core mission were obviously, scandalously fumbled. Stuff like "let's start a business in <X>, for which were are completely unsuited!" or "let's fix the risk department by doubling its size!" and so on. All of this, by executives who were also obviously very intelligent and well-intentioned. How can this be? Because they had a core at which they were among the top three in the world. Even when they ignored that core competency, it saved them over and over again.
Somehow these lunatics made the story about ebikes.
Betsy and Mike have been our early adopters for the last few years. It has been a complete grind for them and us. Betsy would say, “All I want is a warm meal during harvest. I want to be able to do laundry during harvest.” For a while we had one team metric, “give Betsy dinner.”

This is the dumbest quote. “Newtonian mechanics doesn’t fully describe planetary motion,” was an extraordinary claim that was vindicated by one observation of mercury. The scientific method is awesome BECAUSE the tiniest observation topples the juggernaut of the status quo.

It is uncanny in this era to be grateful for a politician, but Lurie is an exception. The West Coast has its Bloomberg and, yes, most people chalk up the city’s turnaround to the energy he brought to the Mayor’s office.
His tenure emphasizes just how much his predecessors squandered their time there.
The last three dinner parties I’ve been at in SF, with completely non-political people, have all at some point descended into everyone exclaiming some version of “so thankful for @DanielLurie”
