STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE
President Tinubu Has Faithfully Kept His Promise Of Rebuilding Nigeria, Says VP Shettima
*As Ekiti declares 90% votes for president at APC presidential campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti
** Guber candidates of PDP, APM, SDP pledges full support for president's re-election
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima @officialSKSM, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT has remained fully faithful to his promises to rebuild Nigeria through bold and necessary economic reforms.
This comes just as the people of Ekiti State have declared that 90 per cent of the total registered voters in the state will be delivered for the president in the forthcoming presidential election.
Also, opposition figures in the state, including candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last governorship election, declared their support for the President, citing the positive impact of the Federal Government’s interventions in Ekiti.
Senator Shettima, who spoke on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during Presidential Campaign Rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC), acknowledged the sacrifices made by the citizens, saying the people were already reaping the benefits of the administration's tough decisions.
He noted that while the commitments are currently being fulfilled, the Tinubu administration has returned to account for the work already done as well as the tasks ahead.
"We know the sacrifices you have made, and we are beginning to reap the benefits of those difficult decisions. His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has remained faithful to the commitments we made to you.
"We have begun to fulfil those commitments, and we have returned to account for the work already done and the tasks that remain. We have come to seek the renewal of your mandate, to continue the partnership we began and to finish the work you entrusted to us," he declared.
The Vice President appealed to the people of Ekiti to replicate the mass support they gave to the President in the 2023 presidential poll, assuring them that the administration's commitment to their welfare "extends to healthcare and electricity, two necessities upon which the dignity of everyday life depends."
He cited the conversion of the former State Specialist Hospital in Ikole-Ekiti into a Federal Medical Centre to complement the Federal Teaching Hospital in Ido-Ekiti as part of efforts by the Tinubu administration to revamp healthcare.
On electricity, VP Shettima said, "We have also turned our attention to your electricity needs. Equipment has arrived for the substations at Ilupeju and Ijesa-Isu, alongside ongoing work on the Ikere switching station.
"We have approved additional electricity distribution lines and transferred regulatory authority over your intrastate electricity market to Ekiti State. We understand what these interventions mean to you."
The Vice President lauded the transformation of Ekiti State into an electoral powerhouse, stating that the state "has become a litmus test for elections in Nigeria.
"You lead the nation in speaking with a voice that deserves respect and reflection. We have returned to acknowledge that voice and thank you for your warmth," he added, justifying his observation with the recent re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji under the APC platform.
Senator Shettima delved into efforts by the Tinubu administration to build roads in the state, noting that work has proceeded on the Akure–Ikere–Ado-Ekiti road, while reconstruction has begun on the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado-Ekiti road.
"Other federal road interventions, from Aramoko and Ijero to Ifaki, Oye, Ikole and Omuo, are at different stages. Our duty is to see the work through. Every unfinished road is a responsibility awaiting fulfilment," added.
On education, the Vice-President stated that the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences was established in Iyin-Ekiti, while students at Ekiti State University and Bamidele Olumilua University received education loans through NELFUND.
Also recalling the new ICT Experience Centre commissioned at Ekiti State University through TETFund support, the VP said the obligation of the Tinubu administration "is to make sure that poverty does not shut the classroom door against any child," especially in Ekiti, the land of professors.
He listed other federal government interventions in the state, including agricultural input programmes that have brought fertilisers and planting materials within reach of participating farmers.
The Vice President restated the commitment of President Tinubu to rebuilding the nation, pointing out, however, that "the authority to continue with it rests with the Nigerian electorate.
"We seek your mandate to complete the work we have begun, fulfil the commitments we have made and carry this mission to its conclusion," he told the Ekiti people.
Following a successful presidential mega-rally in the state, Vice President Shettima departed Ado-Ekiti with a clear and emphatic message from the people, who declared that 90 per cent of the total registered voters will be delivered for President Tinubu in the forthcoming election.
They attributed their overwhelming support to the massive infrastructure projects embarked upon by the Federal Government across the state, saying they have transformed lives and communities, creating a strong case for a second term for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
In a significant show of bipartisan solidarity, the governorship candidates of the PDP, APM, and SDP in the last governorship election in the state pledged their support for the President.
In their separate remarks, the opposition candidates affirmed that they would mobilise their supporters behind the All Progressives Congress to ensure the victory of President Tinubu, emphasising that their commitment went beyond party lines and was rooted in the unity and continued progress of Ekiti State.
On his part, Governor Oyebanji @biodunaoyebanji described the decision of opposition figures in the state to declare support for President Tinubu as clear evidence of the positive impact of the Federal Government’s interventions in Ekiti.
He said the people of Ekiti would reciprocate the President’s efforts by delivering an overwhelming mandate in the next general election.
“We will use our votes to say thank you to a President who has given approval for so many federal roads and other critical projects in Ekiti State. The people of Ekiti will return the President with no less than 90 per cent of registered voters,” he declared.
Also speaking at the event, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda @nentawe1, said President Tinubu’s achievements deserved to be rewarded with a second term.
He noted that the administration had eased the burden on small business owners who previously struggled under the weight of unaffordable taxes.
“Unlike in the past, when small business owners were being strangled by taxes they could not afford, the coming of President Tinubu has checked that excess. The NELFUND student loan scheme, the construction of roads, the establishment and upgrading of federal institutions, and other interventions are clear manifestations of the President’s goodwill and his determination to improve the lives of Nigerians,” Yilwatda said.
Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari @SenatorAAYari, urged the people of Ekiti to mobilise full support for the President’s re-election.
“President Bola Tinubu has promised to bring even greater development to Ekiti State if given the opportunity to serve a second term. The people of the South-West must demonstrate their love and support by voting massively for him. Interestingly, many in the North already regard President Tinubu as one of their own, more than a southerner. The South-West must not be left behind in showing appreciation,” Yari stated.
Former APC National Chairman and Deputy Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council in charge of mobilisation, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, highlighted the student loan scheme as one of the administration’s landmark achievements, describing it as part of the President’s vision of aligning Nigeria with the global knowledge economy.
“President Tinubu has been able to address some of the challenges that have long bedevilled the country. These include the recruitment of more personnel into the Armed Forces, the stabilisation of the foreign exchange market, and the steady growth of the nation’s economy. A vote for President Bola Tinubu means continuity and prosperity for Nigerian youths, the economy, and the country as a whole,” Oshiomhole said.
In separate remarks, candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last Ekiti State governorship election declared that they would mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress to ensure the victory of President Tinubu.
They stressed that their commitment transcended party lines and was rooted in the desire for the unity and continued development of Ekiti State.
The mega rally was attended by political leaders in the state and their supporters, serving and former Senators as well as Members of the House of Representatives and the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE
President Tinubu's Infrastructure Revolution Turning Regions Into Economic Powerhouses — VP Shettima
...Says Akwanga–Maiduguri Superhighway will strengthen trade, reduce transport costs across North-Central, North-East
...Seeks renewed mandate for President at APC presidential campaign rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has said the massive infrastructure investments being undertaken by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are connecting Nigeria's major economic corridors, strengthening regional trade, reducing transportation costs and opening new opportunities for businesses and communities across the country.
He noted that by weaving concrete veins of commerce through every economic corridor, the Tinubu administration is turning infrastructure into a masterstroke of national transformation.
Speaking in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Wednesday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally, Senator Shettima said the Federal Government's investments in strategic transport infrastructure are designed to link agricultural and industrial production centres with markets, stimulate employment and accelerate economic development across the nation's geopolitical zones.
He described the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri Superhighway as a major component of the administration's infrastructure development agenda, explaining that the project will strengthen economic connections between the North-Central and North-Eastern regions.
VP Shettima said the project, alongside the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, reflects the administration's determination to address Nigeria's infrastructure deficit and create a more integrated national economy.
"We have promised to connect producers and markets. We have promised to ease movement across regions. We have promised to generate employment. We have promised to diminish costs that burden traders and families. This is what we are doing, and we have come to ask for your support for another term to complete this mission," he said.
The Vice President explained that improved road connectivity would facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, minerals and manufactured goods, bringing farms, mines and factories closer to consumers and businesses.
According to him, the administration's infrastructure programme is being supported by economic reforms introduced to strengthen public finances, improve government revenues and restore investor confidence.
"We inherited an economy burdened by fiscal pressure. We inherited a country with an infrastructure deficit. We inherited a country with weakened investor confidence and structural defects. These problems demanded decisions that no responsible government could postpone. But I come to you to assure you that the worst days are over. We have already fixed our economy," he stated.
VP Shettima maintained that the administration's fiscal reforms had improved revenue generation and increased allocations to subnational governments, providing additional resources for infrastructure development and other public investments.
"The Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been a long-awaited silver lining. We have pursued reforms to protect public finances. We have pursued reforms to raise revenue. We have pursued reforms to restore investor confidence and encourage Nigerian production," he said.
He noted that Nasarawa State, with its vast agricultural and mineral resources, stands to benefit from improved transportation networks and the administration's emphasis on domestic production and industrial development.
On education, the Vice President highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), saying students from Nasarawa State have access to financing for higher education under the Federal Government's student loan programme.
He also disclosed that President Tinubu had approved the conversion of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, into the Federal University of Mining, Engineering and Technology, describing the initiative as a strategic investment in the technical manpower required to develop Nigeria's solid minerals sector.
"This decision recognises Nasarawa State's mineral endowment and the need to educate engineers, scientists and technologists who can transform that wealth into a lasting industrial advantage," he said.
The VP further identified mineral processing as a major priority of the administration's industrial policy, recalling the commissioning of the Diamond New Energy Lithium Processing Plant in Nasarawa State.
He explained that the government's reforms are intended to encourage domestic processing of mineral resources, create manufacturing jobs and retain greater economic value within Nigeria.
"We have put in place reforms that allow Nigerians to earn far more from mineral processing, create manufacturing jobs and reduce the export of raw minerals, rather than surrender higher-value work, its rewards and our industrial future to other countries," he stated.
Acknowledging the economic difficulties experienced by Nigerians, VP Shettima said the government remained conscious of the sacrifices associated with its reforms, assuring Nigerians that the administration was determined to translate the gains into improved living conditions.
"We are not in denial about the short-term pain that has accompanied our reforms. We have already come through that surgery, and believe me, it was successful," he assured.
The Vice President also commended Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, for his administration's investments in roads, flyovers, urban infrastructure, education, healthcare and public institutions.
He praised the governor's leadership and contributions to the development of the state, noting that increased fiscal allocations had provided additional opportunities for state governments to implement development projects.
VP Shettima said the APC was returning to Nigerians to present an account of its stewardship and seek a renewed mandate for President Tinubu and the party's candidates.
"We have come here today because we owe Nigerians an account of our stewardship," he said, adding that the administration was seeking the opportunity to complete ongoing development programmes.
He also called for peaceful political participation and urged supporters to reject violence during the electoral process.
"I trust you to resist any temptation to yield to violence and prove to all detractors that ours is a politics based on issues," the Vice President stated.
VP Shettima thanked the people of Nasarawa State for their support since 2023 and reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to the state's development priorities.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, noted the party's courage and pride in presenting President Tinubu's scorecard, maintaining that the Nigerian leader's first term in office had been unprecedented in the history of democracy in Nigeria.
The Speaker urged the people of Nasarawa to support the Tinubu administration, arguing that most of the projects currently being undertaken could not be completed unless President Tinubu was returned for another four years in office.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, urged the people of Nasarawa State and the North-Central region to vote for President Tinubu, Senator Wadada and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
For his part, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, described President Tinubu as the architect of modern Nigeria, imploring Nigerians, particularly the people of Nasarawa State, to cast their votes for the President, Senator Wadada and other APC candidates in the next general elections.
Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate for Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Wadada, defended the reforms undertaken by the Tinubu administration, citing improving economic indicators.
The lawmaker said only "an open enemy" would dismiss the achievements recorded by the Federal Government since President Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, pointing to ongoing infrastructure projects nationwide, as well as growth in the capital market, as indicators of economic recovery.
Earlier, on arrival, the Vice President went straight to the palace of the Emir of Lafia, His Royal Highness, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (rtd), where he conveyed President Tinubu's greetings to the royal father, declaring that it was a pleasure to return home.
Paying homage to the monarch, Senator Shettima described him as a man whose life has been devoted to the service of justice and applauded him for promoting peace.
He identified Nasarawa State as a true expression of the Nigerian story, observing that while various ethnic groups have made the state their common home, Nasarawa has become a miniature Nigeria, with all the beauty and complexity of the nation's diversity.
Responding, the Emir of Lafia wished President Tinubu success in the forthcoming elections, expressing confidence in the judgment of Nigerians to choose the best candidate to lead the country.
The monarch noted that while several aspirants would be seeking the presidency, the ultimate decision rests with the Nigerian people, whom he trusted to recognise and reward leadership, competence and commitment to national development.
He particularly commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his loyalty, steadfastness and dedication to public service, describing his hard work and contributions to nation-building as remarkable.
The Emir praised the Vice President for remaining a dependable partner to President Tinubu and for his continued commitment to the progress and unity of Nigeria.
