Gemma 4 in Space. 🛰️ Google Research's Project Suncatcher just booted up data-center TPUs aboard a prototype satellite and ran Gemma 4 in Low Earth Orbit. For its "Hello World" test, engineers on Earth asked Gemma 4 to write a haiku about being in space. Passing over Svalbard, Norway, the satellite downlinked its response: Blue marble below Data streams in silent grace Starlight feeds my core. ✨ Built with Planet and running on a ~1kW solar budget, the team is now testing how TPUs handle heat and radiation in space.

Санкт-Петербург» за 2013–2022 годы, 62 номера «Той самой "Новой газеты"», а также сайты редакций, YouTube-каналы и 16 специальных проектов. Today I launched @quackle_io. Since the first media reports, @WHO has been actively following up on the reported death of a laboratory worker at the Irkutsk Antiplague Research Institute in Irkutsk oblast, Russian Federation. The individual died on 2 October 2026 after being hospitalised with severe pneumonia. Initial media reports suggested pneumonic plague following an alleged accidental laboratory exposure. In response to WHO’s verification request under the International Health Regulations, the Russian health authorities reported that no case of plague had recently been registered in Irkutsk oblast. They informed WHO that an epidemiological investigation had been conducted, preventive and control measures implemented, and identified contacts placed under medical observation and tested. They reported that no high-threat pathogens had been detected among the contacts and that medical observation of all identified contacts had been completed. WHO has remained in contact with the Russian health authorities and has offered technical support. WHO has requested further information to clarify the cause of the severe pneumonia, the pathogen that prompted the public health measures, and media reports of a second employee with pneumonia of undetermined cause. Timely, complete and transparent information sharing under the International Health Regulations is essential to clarify conflicting reports and enable an accurate assessment of potential public health risks.

Российские госкомпании резко увеличили закупки стационарных телефонов — «Ведомости» Расходы российских госкомпаний на закупку стационарных телефонов в январе — августе 2026 года выросли более чем втрое по сравнению с тем же периодом прошлого года и составили 118 млн рублей. Количество закупок стационарных телефонов также выросло год к году на 12,5% до 3595 процедур, сообщили «Ведомости» со ссылкой на данные госзакупок. К росту спроса на устройства привели ограничения связи и интернета, которые вводят в разных регионах России, сказали изданию в АНО «Телекоммуникационное оборудование». Об увеличении запросов россиян на установку стационарных телефонов в марте говорил президент «Ростелекома» Михаил Осеевский. По его словам, иметь дома такой надежный вид связи хотят «многие очень уважаемые люди». Это заявление прозвучало на фоне отключения мобильной связи и интернета в разных районах Москвы. После этого в черте Садового кольца вдвое увеличилось количество заявок на установку стационарных телефонов, рассказывал ведущий аналитик Mobile Research Group Эльдар Муртазин.
