In 1831, enslaved man Nat Turner saw a solar eclipse as a sign to plan his rebellion. In 1805, a slave revolt took place at Chatham, but it was spontaneous. Other than the eclipse or the "Drinking Gourd" story, how could astronomy impact the lives of enslaved people? #NEOWISE
