ALT Increasing our understanding of farm resilience to climatic risks is critical but measuring resilience remains challenging. Our review brings evidence on the impact of resilience attributes on farm performance and resilience to climate-related risks, with a focus on quantitative methods and implications for resilience assessment of smallholder farms. It advocates for more comprehensive studies with the help of six guidelines. Photocredit: Cirad.

ALT #OpenAccessArticle Over the past 60 years, simulation models have become indispensable in agricultural research. They're especially vital in farming systems research, helping interpret complex interactions amidst climate variability. The Agricultural Production Systems Simulator (APSIM) stands out as a widely utilized platform, evolving significantly since its inception. From its roots in agronomy research to its impact in the 2000s and 2010s, APSIM's development has been noteworthy. Looking forward, advancements in sensing technology and machine learning offer promising opportunities for enhancing the effectiveness of these models, ensuring their continued relevance in agricultural research and development.
