works on phones >> the deployed file was missing a viewport tag, so phones were rendering it as a desktop page and shrinking it. fixed, and verified at iphone width. words over the works now stack and have real tap targets. no double-tap zoom or long-press menus on the works.
move on, anywhere >> every station has a quiet “move on →” from the first second. it costs nothing beyond the standard passage and leaves the work where it got to.
the eyes are passable >> fatter brush, finishes at 60% instead of 85%, and “enough” appears after 2.5 seconds instead of 6.
the words actually work >> presses on “enough”, “move on”, “stop waiting”, “no one told me” were being swallowed by the work underneath them on every station that responds to touch. fixed, and tested by clicking and tapping each one on the first six stations.
readable on white >> the words and the status line sit on a dark backing now.
the track >> “half truth” starts on your first touch, fades in, loops. a “sound” word bottom left turns it off and remembers your choice.
feels almost complete. well, half. maybe.

most of what the world believes is about half of what we actually know. we take a true thing, cut it where it starts to suck, and keep the piece that fits in a pocket. churches keep the love and lose the judgment. a song becomes a slogan and the slogan becomes a t-shirt. a half-truth is just a true thing that got tired of it’s other half, or the carrier chose to bury it.
take two bob marley songs. "get up, stand up" became a chant you can shout at anything, and it is actually a song about knowing. it says the people telling you to wait for your reward have never been where they are sending you - and what is holy is in the room, alive, right now. "one love" became a wedding song played by every bad wedding dj ever, and it is actually about a reckoning. it asks what will happen to the man who has hurt everyone, refuses to answer, and tells us to gather anyway, before the verdict, with him in the room.
i made eleven claims from those songs. each gets a work and something for you to do. wait for a picture. it will not finish. type a name. it will not keep. hold someone who will not turn around. wipe something clean. stand up. again. keep your eyes shut if you like. at the last door, decide whether the person who hurt you gets in.
the works arrive in coarse dither. enough to make out a shape. your actions clear them, sometimes.
meanwhile, the room keeps score. passing costs five. that gets you down to about half. waiting costs. standing pays. the meter is out of sight.
afterward, you get the whole picture. every work, every instruction, everything you did. an itemized bill with nothing left to buy.
i do not know what a reckoning looks like. i made this small enough to fit on this stupid screen. eleven questions. a score nobody gets to keep. the room can tell you what you did. it cannot tell you whether you were right. the person who hurt you is still at the door.
