The Cultural Heritage Watch platform not only documents the damage to Iran’s heritage in wartime but preserves the social memories and meanings of these places. Read the newest ANE Today by Kiersten Neumann here: buff.ly/iP3QMPj #Iran #CulturalHeritage

Today, my alma mater, Sharif U of T, was reportedly struck amid U.S–Israeli attacks on Iran. To put this into perspective, this would be akin to a foreign power targeting MIT. I look at this photo from my convocation, full of hopes and plans for the future, surrounded by friends and mentors, and wonder what the campus looks like now. I wonder when girls like the younger me will be able to set foot on it again. Academic spaces are sacred. They should not be drawn into conflict. Civilian sites should be protected in times of war. #IranWar‌ #DigitalBlackOutIran‌ #NoAttackOnInfrastructure

[To VW] Teheran, Persia 9th March [1926]. Now I shall not tell you about Persia, and nothing of its space, colour, and beauty, which you must take for granted—but please do take it for granted because it has become a part of me—grafted onto me, leaving me permanently enriched.

Thread: On Monday, June 16, around 6:35 PM local time, the iconic glass building of #Iran’s state broadcaster (IRIB) was struck by Israeli missiles. Many of you have probably seen the aftermath photos. But how many know the story behind this building? 1/14

"Happy Nowruz! March 20th, 2025, marks the Persian New Year, a 3000-year-old celebration of spring—light over darkness. With Haft-Sin and Sizdah-Bedar, I hope I shared Iran’s wildflower beauty last year. To a joyful 1404!

One of those reference works where every footnote is a little treasury. It's got Heine, al-Biruni, the Umman-Manda, and the unending cycle of abducted gods, murderous princes and fallen empires.
