When government assistance is needed, I want every Jamaican to be in a position to receive that support without unnecessary delays.
That is why I am encouraging every Jamaican to get their National Identification System (NIDS) ID and maintain an active bank account. Please also ensure that your personal information, TRN and banking details are accurate and up to date.
As we continue to distribute assistance through programmes such as the ROOFS Grant, we have encountered cases where incorrect identification or bank details, dormant accounts and disputes over property ownership have delayed payments to beneficiaries. These are issues that can be avoided or resolved more easily when your information is in order.
We are building a system that allows us to verify a personβs needs and transfer assistance directly to their bank account when it is required, especially in times of disaster.
I am asking for your cooperation. Get identified, open and maintain a bank account, and keep your information up to date. It is an important step in ensuring that you can access the assistance available to you.

Good morning from #ABettaPlace!
Yesterday, we shared a little support with the three childrenβs homes across North Central Clarendon, donating eggs to St. Monicaβs Childrenβs Home, Summerfield Child Care Facility and St Augustine Place of Safety.
It is important to look out for the well-being of our children and support the institutions that care for them. Small acts of kindness can go a long way in making a difference.
