TIL: It is possible to run multiple apiservers on one Kubernetes server and etcd.
I'm exploring using it for migrating of legacy apiserver auth to new OIDC based one. Still many things to explore.
Me: "It can't be that hard to run that software."
Me after an hour: "It works great, but I feel like it needs some tweaking."
Me after a week of work: "Actually, it wasn't that hard".
BTW: Argo Workflows looks very promising to me.

Příští týden je vývojářský víkend a nezvykle jsou ještě místa, tak doporučuju po tom skočit. Nechte si to proplatit ve firmě, přínosnější investici letos nenajdou.
Jezdí tam každoročně špičky oboru a už jen večer u piva se naučíte víc jak za celý rok.

Confession: I really like Varnish cache.
Today, customer had an overloaded application. I rewrote and cached some URLs. Instead of a second response, we now respond in hundredths of a second. CPU usage dropped from 95% to 5%.
Pure magic.

Objednal jsem si dřevo na stavbu nové pracovní vestavby do dodávky. Když to dorazilo, zjistil jsem, že se mi to do auta tak nějak nevejde, asi tak o půl metru.
Možná jsem při počítání rozměrů neměl používat tu frajerskou kalkulačku s reverzní notací. 🤔

This is a reason I like @Ansible AWX/Tower for automation.
When something goes wrong in a non trivial workflow, we can easily see the exact position it went off the rails.

If you manage any AWS deployments, you may have noticed that your EC2 spot instance spending is skyrocketing! I certainly did, so I took a deep dive to figure out what could be causing this trend and what orgs can do about it. (1/n)
When you have one multimeter, you know exactly how fast is the battery charging.
But I have two multimeters. So it charges either 3A or 0.75A. 🤔
My work today: After a bit of tinkering, @icinga can store performance data into @VictoriaMetrics . And it can even display them in IcingaWeb2 using the @grafana plugin.
