Police and fire crews are currently responding to an apartment fire on Queens Avenue.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as police and fire crews work to manage the incident.
Tonight at approximately 5:08 p.m., a community member called police after seeing four people handling what appeared to be a rifle at a bus stop.
Officers responded, supported by a remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS), and took all four individuals into custody without incident. The item was confirmed to be a pellet gun and was voluntarily surrendered for destruction.
Replica firearms and pellet guns can look identical to real firearms. Officers must treat a reported firearm as real until they can confirm otherwise. Carrying or displaying these items in public can cause fear and prompt a significant police response.
Thank you to the community member who reported this concern and to our responding teams for their coordinated work.
