Excellent storytelling by Shaun Pollock on team meetings and how it doesn't always help... Perhaps why MS Dhoni didn't believe much in them and at max had a minute or so before games! Also, notice the quality of commentary here compared to what Indians are fed with! 🙏@abcsport

An India New Zealand T20. An England Sri Lanka ODI. And an Australia South Africa Test. All in one day. And the T20 was the least entertaining!

South Africa and Australia scored 819 runs combined for 29 wickets over three days and a bit more. England and Sri Lanka scored 859 runs for 12 wickets in a day. India and New Zealand scored 455 runs for 10 wickets in half a day. This is the level of farce cricket has been reduced to.

Joe Root just completed 8,000 ODI runs at average of 51 & dumb people says Joe Root is an one format batter.😂😂 His ODI average is even better than likes of Rohit, Warner & many other good ODI batters. He also completed 14,000 test runs this year only!

A 66 ball 69 for Joe Root today, who has also gone past 8000 ODI runs. Amongst batters who have scored more than 8000 runs in ODIs, only four average 50 plus. 1. Virat Kohli 2. MS Dhoni 3. AB de Villiers 4. Joe Root Doesn't nearly get the credit he deserves.

On December 30, 1952, London bus driver Albert Gunter dramatically jumped his Route 78 double-decker bus across a rising gap on Tower Bridge. Realizing the bridge was lifting unexpectedly on a green light, the former WWII tank driver accelerated, clearing the opening with 20 passengers on board.... With 20 terrified passengers on board, the red Routemaster leaped across a three-foot gap as the bridge continued to lift. The front wheels landed safely on the opposite side, though the impact broke the suspension and injured Gunter’s leg. Miraculously, everyone survived with only minor injuries. Albert was later rewarded with a £10 bonus for his bravery — roughly £400 today — and became a London legend. His daring leap remains one of the most extraordinary moments in public transport history. #drthehistories

The image attached here is a fabricated/AI-generated depiction that greatly exaggerates the 1952 event; no real photo of the bus jump exists and the actual gap was only about 3 feet. leadstories.com/hoax-alert/202… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1952_Towe… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Harmanpreet Kaur’s situation feels like déjà vu. People should remember what happened when the captaincy passed from Mithali Raj to Harman. Ramesh Powar, who has recently joined the men’s team setup, was the head coach back then. Harman strongly backed him after Mithali was dropped from the XI for the 2018 T20 World Cup semi-final ve England, which India lost. The fallout included public tweets, leaked emails to the BCCI, and mediation meetings. Mithali accused Powar of humiliation and bias, while Harman wrote to the BCCI in support of him. Powar eventually didn’t get an extension. Now Harman finds herself on the other side, having lost the captaincy to Smriti Mandhana. She should learn from the past, support the new captain, and contribute to the team rather than create two power centres. The transition from Mithali to Harman wasn’t smooth either, better she doesn’t repeat that.

IN AN IDEAL WORLD: - KL Rahul/Shreyas Iyer should have become the ODI captain after Virat Kohli. - Hardik Pandya should have become the T20I captain after Rohit Sharma. - Ajinkya Rahane should have become the Test captain after Virat Kohli. But one guy has ruined everything. His greed for power robbed all these players of what they deserved. Except for T20Is, Rohit Sharma never deserved captaincy in any format after Virat Kohli, especially not in Tests. Rahane should have been our Test captain till the 2025 WTC cycle. Had Rahane been the captain, we wouldn't have been whitewashed at home, and Virat Kohli wouldn't have retired from Test cricket either After ruining the careers of all these players, he's now after Yashasvi Jaiswal's career. Only God can save Jaiswal career now.

Smith is the new Rohit Sharma, no awareness of retiring with grace. So, AUS have two Rohit Sharmas in their playing XI—Marnus and Smith. #SAvAUS
